Lol dude that's not what I was imagining. What I imagine is that anything can be entertaining if you put yourself in another position without letting modern society overshadow the talent and effort put into certain art.
Of course I'm not aware, simply because I don't speak Japanese lol so it doesn't bother me. The character art doesn't bother me either because that's just how it was back in the days. For me it's like comparing Hip-Hop group Run-DMC to today's Jedi Mind Tricks. (Sorry for the silly comparison) The beats and rhymes in the 80's were less developed, but it is still equally entertaining if you consider how great it must've been back then. I'm not saying we should live in the past, I'm just saying all art can be good regardless of time. I'm an art student and we learn how concepts are some of the most important things whether it's nicely drawn or not, I guess maybe that's why I don't care if it's not visually appealing. I understand pretty well if you don't like old styles. :-)
As I said, "I don't know why I get pissed" it's just something inside me lol I also like the new styles better, but I respect the old school, it's part of my life style.
Note that my comment wasn't directed towards you in particular but just modern society.
I understand that it wasn't directly pointed at me, but I felt as if I should say why we people in the "modern society" do that.
K so I have a few problems with your point of view:
1) Seems as if you barely even watch anime. When I say barely I mean hardly, meaning, 1-10 anime total.
2) You're speaking as if you've never seen something you disliked.
3) Someone who doesn't care about something being visually appealing has no right to even speak on the matter of someone being unsatisfied with how the character art style is, therefore, you should not get annoyed when people say they want to watch something from this generation.
4) I did not say I disliked the character art style from the old days, I just find a whole lot of them annoying because of how well made the modern ones are. As I stated before, I have watched old anime, for example: Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Great Teach Onizuka, etc; all of which I have watched in the last couple of months and all of which were made in the late 90's.
Now here is one example of shit voice acting (I'll be doing it in english so you can understand):
I'm going to kill you! ............................ 5 seconds after the person says that, the other person says .............................. What?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
The response time in anime now-a-days are more faster than those that were made in the old days.
You compare the art styles to that of two hip hop bands. The amount of evolution that has happened is beyond comparison.

I can imagine you know lots of more anime than me since it's not an obsession or whatever for me, I'm interested in many, many things so I can't just focus on one too much.
I have watched lots of them, much more than you guessed, but didn't complete many.
But from what I've seen from anime like Lupin III, Mobile Suit Gundam, Fist of the North Star or of course Dragon Ball there's like nothing wrong with it lol or maybe that's just me. And of course I've seen things I dislike, but not in age but in the things that make sense for example if I dislike a Lil Wayne song I won't say it sucks because Wayne has a shitty voice but I'll be talking about the lyrics, flow, wordplay, punchlines etc.
Perhaps you didn't get the visually appealing part, with that I mean I don't care between the difference with analog and digital art. Sure, it looks nicer but as we're always taught, looks aren't everything and an old classic can still be superior in terms of skills and entertainment.
Note that I'm not suggesting your taste sucks or whatever, it's just as I said, I'm simply trying to point out that it can't be judged by time and I was simply stating that it pisses me off sometimes. That's ALL. Not saying that YOU piss me off.
I didn't come here to say "hey go suck some D's if you don't watch old anime" I just came to find out what you think and now, for that I can thank you.
But just wondering, what exactly is "old" for you? I mean when you just said GTO I kinda half-freaked out, around the 2000's seems pretty new to me.
Death Note is my favorite anime by the way. In terms of animation, plot, character development, concept, drawing etc. Again, note I ALSO like the newer stuff more than the old, but I don't dislike the old stuff, I just fail to see negativity in it for when it was made. I like the newer stuff simply because it portrays my surroundings better: school life, references, love, technology, etc.
@Wucas I just made that comparison because it describes modern society enough. An old rap or rock song is "old trash" while a dubstep song is "new and cool" even when the old ones were revolutionary and the source of modern music.
I could also just compare it with new and old movies. I watched Nosferatu recently, and when I tell my friends how awesome it actually is (even though there's like no voice acting in it) they start laughing lol I'm not saying I'm disrespecting their opinion but it just happened so many times that it naturally pisses me off now. Not in a very negative way.
Well I gave my opinion and you gave yours, what's left is, now we know that we cannot come to an understanding about it.
And GTO was made in 1999-2000, we are now in 2013, so it's safe to say it was made more than a decade ago. But it was still very good, and even with the old art style and the old voice acting and response time it was still very appealing, I gave it a 9/10. And I gave Yu Yu Hakusho a 10/10. When I grade anime I keep in mind of the time they were made btw, because tbh, if I was to grade Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin and GTO grades that were lower because of now-a-days anime, it would be totally unfair seeing as how they were made a long time ago and they were used as the stepping stones for anime to reach where they are atm.

does naruto ever find all of the dragon balls?
Okay, so bashy already gave me some anime to chew on a while back, but I've gone trough most of it.
So far I've watched the following:
Avatar - the last airbender
Avatar - the legend of korra
Bleach
Ao no exorcist
Sword art online
Full metal brotherhood (almost done)
Death note (watching)
Mirai nikki
I like the supernatural kind of anime, from the list above I enjoyed Bleach/avatar the most. Mainly because the fighting is better, for example; the fighting in brotherhood is kind of pussy, I like it a bit gore and the killing as well, in these ed doesn't even kill (not yet at least). I also like the kind where the main character learns his power as the series go on, that they really get stronger. In bleach that evolves pretty good, its getting a little odd in the later part of the series.
As for humor, I really get irritated if there is a lot of humor in the series, full metal had a lot of those in the beginning.
Give me some tips for good animes, that contain supernatural, preferably sword fighting.
