I encountered the same problem, when my virus scan (norton) was running.

When opened up norton and made an exception for the fgunz folder (so that it wouldn't check those files) the problem...

decided to start playing gunz again. I saw ijji was gone, and the new company also decided to ditch the game. :/
so i decided to rejoin freestyle (:

i tried to change an option a few times, every time i try to save my new setting the game crashes...

the mlog.txt didn't show any errors regarding the font :/
it did show an error regarding the...

because of this crossover thing i can only make a screenshot if it would run in windowed mode.
only problem i have, i can't find a config.xml file...
ingame the options screen isn't readable
