So I was really turned off by anime recently, but I'm considering giving it another shot. I get really stubborn and picky with what I watch when it comes to anime, so I figured I'd come to the experts, since I don't know jack shit about anime I can't get into the cheesy love story ones. Something with more action or suspense would be really nice. English subs too. What would you guys recommend to me ?

Action/suspense, without being the top in any category you mentioned, if you're new to anime, Death Note is the one I'd suggest for about anybody. Decent amount of action with easy-to-relate to character. If you want something more specific, some people already suggested a few mainstream series. Otherwise No.6 might be something you'd like.

anyone ever see Steins Gate? heard it's pretty good, and it sounds highly interesting to me.

I kept away from that one for a few months simply because I thought that any story with a time travelling microwave would be stupid. Well I was wrong. Without calling it a master piece, it's a very solid anime that will keep you hooked up till the end. An enjoyable story that anybody can understand and watch at any given time.

Well, the last post was a bit old, so I thought I'd just say I'm still here!
And damn me for failing, but I couldn't stop watching animes.

So I'm up to date, just in case the first post gave way to think otherwise.
