If you don't mind me asking how long have you been making beats? and what do you use?

I myself make beats but not of this genre and quality, I've been doing it on and off over the past 2 years or so. Noticing some gradual progress.
I've yet to make anything distinctive enough for me to actively put myself out there and try to gain recognition, at the moment its just plays and opinions from a few friends.

I'd be grateful if you could give me some tips, everything I've done so far has been self taught through experimentation and mistakes.

I use FL and I've been producing for about 8 years. Youtube is your best bet for education and tips

But yeah, I guess I should finally look towards YouTube for any sort of help, been dodging it for a long while now as I get really frustrated when I see very little progression when I'm learning something on my own.

I pretty much learned 85% of what I know on my own.

I meant to say that I get frustrated when I learn something off of YouTube and when I try to implement it into something new or pre-existing, it doesn't make too much of a difference.

However, there are a few gems here and there which really do help me but they are usually a rare find, either that or I'm just looking completely in the wrong place.
