Also a thing: assist kills like in csgo when u do 50% dmg on someone u get an assist kill or when your top damage u get extra xp at round end based on how much dmg you actually did.

It might be too much work to get the player with the highest average damage in all rounds,
Alternative could be is to switch the player with the most damage last round before the auto team balance, think it'll save time for the developers and we'll still get good result.

I think balancing by kills makes sense, more than average damage does in a way. E.g. you can deal a lot of damage, but if you don't get kills, because you allow the enemies to heal up, you don't win the round. Kills win the round. So the person with the most kills does have a large impact. Also changing it to average damage instead would require some rewriting of that system and I'm not planning to do that.
