I'm slowly inching along. I'm setting up the testing environment at the moment. I glanced through the source code and the training bot looks do-able so far.
Updated progress on my first post with gifs.
Finished setting up my testing environment. Time to start the hard stuff (spawning a player); it's going to take awhile...
I apologize ahead of time if this thread auto-locks.
would you be interested in gathering data from other players you can use?
I am more than willing to do some kstyle for you to test the bot with.
Added some dummy commands.
Question for y'all. How many bots should be allowed in a room? One, "infinite", one per person?
I was also thinking of having the bot just be your exact clone when you spawn it.
edit: omg I want bot battles. Yesssss.
Perhaps a /bot defendme <radius> command where the bot follows you and attacks people/bots that get too close.
Maybe a /bot attack <playerID> command too.
1 per person I'd think, plus a room limit as an additional restriction. You could have a training room with 32 players in theory, 32 bots on top of that would probably be too much. Have to wait and see what McSic thinks though.
Yeah, one bot per person sounds good. I'll limit the commands to only work in training rooms with a [bot] tag. God mode could be toggle-able with /bot god. I'll put in a check for the spawn limit, but I'll let you guys figure out what a good number is. I vaguely remember some pserver that allowed 64 or 128 players per room.
Added dummy bot. Still needs a lot of work.
Hmm... Should I generalize the code so that you can technically spawn an army, but the limit is set to 1 for the average player? I wonder what is a good way to control an army though.
