sword model

spent a good couple of hours on this one trying to get everything as good as i could without rq'ing from boredom
ive just pasted the texture on this one, id like to try and make my own texture but i think id end up having a nervous breakdown

yes its mine, and my brothers bird is called sam, the laptop was hers before he put his fist through the screen

I'm no developer but shouldn't the edges of the sword end out pointy? Or

yeah i thought thats what u meant, that was the back end of the sword so i wanted to leave it more than anything and the way id made the model if i would of made that edge sharp the model would of looked disfigured and im too lazy to make it perfect

Haha where did it say it was for gunz? xD... Only that shape and all the extra's would hard for the gunz engine to handle or look really bad as a low poly.

Looks good to me (though next time put it in the thread as images so we do not have to click all the links, you can always add spoiler tags if you got a lot of images)

Show me your UV unwrap. If you are just wrapping that bitmap via front view, I have nothing more to say to you.

As for the mesh itself, you need to work on vertex density. Ignoring the fact that this is too heavy for GunZ, if I was planning on putting this in a game, I would worry primarily on what happens when I increase the vertex count for high poly uses. Whether that be for first person view where higher detail is needed, or simply to pull some bakes off to make some AOs, there is no way some of these vertex loops would subdivide nicely. When doing initial creation, spread the mesh data out equally, then as you ad detail there will be less difference between how much information is kept in each location.
