As title says, I am releasing cs_assault (GunZ Map) map made by me. I decided to release this map to the public.

Dont blame me if you didn't like/want this map.

cs_assaultV3 2.48 MB (2,605,056 bytes)


Map output:
* nolightmap (but it is working 100% and no bugs and errors [check or uncheck lightmap is still the same])
* 10% default textures and 90% CS textures
* Sky added (taken from Island map).
* 8 DM spawns, 8 TDM spawns in both teams.
* Map size on disk: 3.40 MB (3,567,616 bytes)

This one is better, than the old one. I want to see it finished, also if you can remove that green thingy cuz it sucks..

4 things

1 remove annoying sound
2 remoave floating box or fix it
3 remove the anoying logo which geeps poping up and down like a moron...
4 make a light map... rlly it fixes every t hing that could suck.. probly...

other than that it seems fine and playble

Oh sorry .. I saw the video now and it's really nice :P I would like to try the map and you should add more boxes so we can hide more ;).

I like what I see, Im a noob map Dev, because I dont have the time but the map with the so called "floating house" it would be nice if you made it into something like a city/ community and open one or two of the houses and yea change the outside (ground)

Your assault maps are really big and have secret-like places o Ao. I want that map for H n S events D:!!
I like the assault map.

you could make the 7G security door actually look like it was kicked down? ( tilt it a bit?)

Textures aren't really making any sense, try use less different textures on a map.

I don't see this working for GunZ, and its a cs map so what exactly did you do yourself besides copying?

making a map is not too easy

I made it from starting,
making walls, the truck, the streets, the bridge, the crate, the office of the map and etc.... there is just little difference of this, my map and the original map of Counter Strike (cs_assaunt)

I work with Unity and UDK, I used GTK Several times and worked with cube engine more then 2 years.

I know what level design is and what you need to do, I bet you didn't make flow charts or a level design document? No, because its gunz and easy.

And believe me, I know how easy that car is, the street and the "crate" lol, you use way to many textures for a simple map and your models aren't really looking any good as well so I'd say check it again and don't get satisfied to early.

im sorry guys but you are nominated for the biggest fail comment award.

ontopic: Map is really big. I think it would only work for hns events... (otherwise you would be searching each other for hours.) Some textures need some more stretching or just replacements. a few models look nice but thats it. city textures on the background fail lol. no lightmap makes it look real weird... just sayin. map isnt really good but kinda better than the last one you showed us. still only 4/10 though.

I've tried this map too, only if I were on 1/10th part of the map my work looked better as this (textures n time xD).

i have tryd in gamenow and no offence but it sucks...
things are out of proportion 2/3rd of the map is awsomeness for slashing flipper noobs only and i miss the light map like hell...
(doors are so small that when you stand in them you acnt jump! and have an arm im the wall...)

o and to other ppl it aient so big as you think it is... its far smaller than town/mansion/asylum

so na ty i dont want it in v7

Some of those 'negative' comments are usefull IMO.

They might be 'negative' in your eyes, and not some tips or w/e but i'm sure it will help you alot.
So in another words you should do something with these 'negative' comments, and don't say it is useless.
Cause it is only useless because you don't use them in your work.
Try to improve instead of doing nothing and just reading them.

The problem is you seeing it negative, if you see it as advice or a tip it would be different, it aint useless its actually the only thing helping you improve.

This might be a tip for you for your future maps, take more time on building the map;
- Better scales
- The decent/right texture
- Test your map once a while to check for any bugs/other things
- Perhaps start on lightmapping (good lightmap will have a better end result on your map)

And don't just make something, make a map that makes sense (there are a lot of people that make random stuff).

Last but not least, writing down idea's, draw your map before you start (THIS CAN BE USEFUL).

I like Cs maps ;)
