this so much lmfao idk since when ET's started using the admin wall 10x per event, its dumb
ET's don't understand that 50% of the players are afk, 20% do DM/TDM, 20% are questing and only 10% go inside the event channel so even if they announce it 50 times, playercount won't go any upper than that.
I suppose it cannot do any harm to have such a checkbox in the options under 1337, I leave this one up to the admins to decide.
Even though we all know 10x is largely exaggerated, I'll give an explanation from my point of view.
1st notice: '*Event* @ the event channel': This is used to let players know which event is being hosted, this is said at the beginning of every event, because there might be people who want to play certain events. Which means if they play the 1st and dont play the 2nd, they will still be able to know which event is going to be 3rd.
2nd notice: This could be either '2nd call for *Event*', '*Event* is starting in ~ minutes' or '*Event* is starting now! This is used to let players know the event is starting in a certain amount of time. The '2nd call for *Event*' is used when there are less than 6 players in the event, in which case there might be some people who haven't seen the notice and still want to join.
3rd notice: '*Event* is still going on!. I only ever use this when the event has less than 8 players or if the event has been going on for a while.
I personally don't think that these uses of the admin wall are annoying in the slightest. They're used with a purpose and is definitely not classified as spamming. However, if the devs are willing to spend their time on making a checkbox to toggle the notices, I'm all for it.
You make it seem like we spam announcements for every event.
The way my pattern goes is:
1) <eventname> @ EVENT CHANNEL
2) <eventname> starting in 1 minute!
Eventually, if there are not many players
3) Last call / Join now / More chances to win if you join early / Late join is off / Double points / some funny sht
and perhaps <eventname> is still going on.
Regarding Bunny's reply on Castiel, it's a good example of what the ETs shouldn't do, but I can vouch that Cast has understood the issue and stopped with the 'sixth call' announcements.

ok do your thing notice 100x a event just give us a option to filter them maybe, cuz no matter how many notices certain ppl wont join
I definitely agree with Bram. That way of announce is pretty normal. If there's gonna be a choice to disable it from Options, so be it. And I witnessed a lot of times few people join more after the 2nd call cuz sometimes people don't see the first announcement.
And if you are an active player in fgunz you would already knew which modes (Events, Training, TDM, Glad ) are played at most by the community and how events are loved to play by a lot of ACTIVE players.

Ok... So I was thinking that announcing 10 times more isn't bad. You see guys, when a user just logged in and he/she doesn't know that there's an event on going, a second or third so in and so frth will let him/her know.
(Some will say, :check the event channel if there's an event, no need for that retard opinion/suggestion.)

As much as I'd like to protect the staff members who are agreeing spamming admin wall 5X or more is right I'm totally against it.
It gets really annoying when a user is CW'ing or in a TDM having a chat then constantly seeing notices about the same event? 5 X 3 events = thats 15 notices we see just in the matter of 40 minutes.
What Stephan suggested would be the best option.

I don't see anyone of us agreeing that 5 notices for 1 event is justified. We try to do as little as possible, which makes for 2x3 in a span of 1,5 to 2 hours. If there are people who think this is too much, please consider the fact that there are people who actually read the notices and use them to participate in events. I highly doubt having 6 messages showing up in 1,5 hours is even slightly annoying at all.
Maybe we can get 'CLAN WARS' announced every 5 minutes aswell, o wait there's no competitive staff members Kappa
I don't think the admin wall itself is the problem, it's the few staff members abusing it. We try to stop them from abusing / spamming it so players don't get annoyed and still be notified when something important is to be announced (such as unexpected maintenance/downtime/server restart).
