just tried that, it said a more up to date or equivalent version of it was already installed.
ive had this issue and ive resolved it before using this method.
Try this :
Open your FgunZ Folder
Go to the file named config.xml
open via notepad and look for the following lines
<WIDTH>800</WIDTH>
<HEIGHT>600</HEIGHT> This is just an example of what it may look like.
For example if its like this
<WIDTH>1600</WIDTH>
<HEIGHT>900</HEIGHT>
try changing it to a lower number like
<WIDTH>800</WIDTH> <WIDTH>640</WIDTH>
<HEIGHT>600</HEIGHT> OR <HEIGHT>480</HEIGHT>

also tried reinstalling, forgot to add that im using avast anti virus
serpento, i dont have that file anymore due to the FAQ saying to delete it

Try updating using windows updated or whatever it's called.
im sure their is a later version of a service pack that you don't have installed

Scroll a bit down until you reach "Option One".
Follow the steps and disable DEP.

yes , also installed, and went back and reinstalled, and just to make sure were both on the same page, im no longer getting direct x error
Did you try to add gunz.exe and launcher.exe to the exception list of Avast! already?

ok, just tried that. no change.
Still the "Game launch error!"?
no error message, as said before, i hit play now and nothing happens, no direct x error, no error box or message of any sort.

Last suggestions:
- Close all programs which are running at the background and try again.
- Double check if your anti-virus and firewall are off.

Go on task manager and manually close the FGunZ that's already running.
Happened to me, every time you hit play it disappears but it launches, if this doesn't work restart your computer.

that sucks, i am using a netbook.
it handles a couple games , i guess this one will have to wait :( played on ijji all the time
