I don't see why you would prohibit any weapon from whatever part of the game. Just admit it, there will always be a weapon certain people are good with and others don't like it, but it shouldn't be a reason to just prohibit them then. And see it on the bright sight: maybe some people that are good with snipers will finally start CWing which is what you always wanted...

What don't people understand about taking something away isn't always gonna be the solution to a problem ? "Oh qq too many rooms with [R] tag, take it away !" "Snipers too OP it's unfair I get killed in 1-2 shots take them away qq." What if I were to get godly aim with revolvers ? And started teaching all my friends to get good with revs and we dumpster all over people in CW ? Are you guys gonna go crying to take away revs from CW too ? If you take too many things away, you're just feeding into the low activity in CW. How about instead of wasting the time crying about it, use that time to practice even harder and get more skilled ? It's not like dodging a sniper is impossible. Depending on the player it may be really really difficult, but when it comes to games like these there's always a counter for something, even for snipers. Whether it's getting better to the point where you kill a lot more fast/accurately, or you get better at dodging shots, it's not impossible.
tl;dr - I vote no. Stop wasting valuable time crying that could be used to train and get a lot better at the game.
Although I could personally care less what they do with CW's and or any type of fighting for that matter, this is 100% accurate and true. Basically you guys are upset that snipers are allowed in CW's or whatever the case is. Does that mean that everything has to be shotgun related? Lol, I mean honestly and in all seriousness, I am POSITIVE, we can all agree that it takes more time to be really good with a sniper, let alone AIM properly with effective damage. Sure it is 1-2 shots = Death, but what are the chances ( Unless they are pro as all hell * Cough * Zenfox, Hades, Midnight. ) Still, taking snipers out would, as everyone said. Kill the interest in CW. I know some players who have never picked up a shotgun in their life because they find it unfair and sloppy. I vote no, with a strong group behind me.

On some narrow maps like prison 2, the person with the sniper will win 9/10 of the time, it's just unfair.

Nothing is ever going to be 100% fair. There's always gonna be that group of people who excel way more than others at using certain weapons. Doesn't mean you should take it away from them just because they're good at it.
What about [SGO] and [SNO] CW modes ? Or of course, the option to do no room tags at all.

I personally don't know the disadvantages of sg's, there's even R on almost every room. You don't see snipes going 850 delay with 100+ dmg.
But from a snipe's perspective it's rather difficult to DHS and aim with it. + trying to not get hit because of the slow speed :_:
But if snipes have slow speed and people complain about being OP, I can make a thread to disable sgs from cw bc its hard to snipe someone jumping all over the place

Nuff said. Snipers ARE op. Snipers are very easy to hit. Just quick scope and you can use them like a rev from far or a shotgun in a short ranged engage. They are more accurate then revs (in the case the bullets don deviate from the xhair) and does fking a lot more dmg than revs. Let us all go back to ijji when revs only take 3-4hits to kill someone and has much lesser delays than those in fgunz currently. So, why? Why is it different? Its becuz fgunz have anti lead and people can just abuse its dmg and low delay to kill someone. Thats why fgunz nerfed revs. Now i dont understand why fgunz would nerf rev but introduce another more op weapon than revs. Dont come at me with the bullshits that snipers have "little ammos" and "high delays". These "high delays" doesnt matters when people can just make use of 2 snipes to shoot 2 shots consecutively which is enough to kill someone. Its like shooting 2pbs at any range. Furthermore, these "little ammos" and "high delays" is bullshit, when snipers can just camp at a long distance away from their enemies and pot to maintain the distance. With such distance, snipers can try their luck and spam their shots hoping to get a hit, while they themselves remains invulnerable due to the huge distance gap as a result of other weapons limited range and damage. Snipers can just shoot, pot+reload+wait for the delay of their gun and repeat the cycle again. And snipes are very easy to aim. I dont want to explain why as it would be too long and boring. If you used blank xhair before you would understand why. So, conclusion - snipers are op. Having said all that. I dont think snipes should be removed from cw. Instead, it should be nerfed. Add a timer to snipes such that only after a few seconds when a sniper scope then can the sniper fire a shot.(basically just remove quickscoping). If not, remove the mobility of snipers so that people that dont snipe (me) can have a chance to get myself into comfortable range to engage and drop the sniper. You can do so by disallowing snipers to perform dash/tumble. If not, just reduce the dmg of snipes. Reduce them till it would take at least 3shots to kill the enemy. And increase the delay of the gun. So it would take a longer time before they can fire their 3rd shots. So i can have time to med + time to kill them with revolvers or catch them with my shotguns. Haha. Even though after this long explanation of why snipers are op i suppose most snipers would just disagree with me just to claim that they are good in this game. Ask urself this. Why did you pick up snipes instead of shotguns? Oh anyway i doubt fgunz would nerf snipers or do anything,since i had put these suggestions on the suggestion thread quite a number of times. But oh well, you snipers can have a chance to kill me in this server ONLY. But i can pwn u in all servers ^.^

So what will happen if we disable snipers AND shotguns from CW? because believe it or not those 2 are the most used weapons in-game and whether the people with the shotguns believe it or not, shotguns are OP too if used correctly, just like any other weapon, but to use shotguns in their correct way you have to get close to your enemy, now that is where the sniper comes in as they have an advantage at long range where shotguns deal low dmg.

Snipers are an addition to this game, and in my opinion unbalanced. The maps, other weapons and even the techniques that weren't consciously put in the game were all working in a good and balanced way. You could argue that other weapons like spray guns aren't as effective, but the shotgun has simply evolved. I believe the competitive element is one of the more interesting elements of GunZ, in fact, outside of Training and Quest mode, it is all about competitive (not just CW).
The fun part of private servers is that we get to add our own content. Though, I don't believe our mods are capable enough to completely add items and weapons such as snipers, mines and whatnot that are well balanced. We're adding additional modes, with additional fun weapons, items and maps, but we shouldn't touch the only thing that really worked for this game; the competitive element. We might try to improve this, but the community has spoken before and majority simply doesn't like all the stuff that is being changed to the competitive element. So why don't we leave that alone?
In my opinion, this server has done an outstanding job to provide a good play experience to the users by adding more content in a way that this isn't just about competitive, but once again, that doesn't mean we should change the only part that was actually working. Our development team (most of them) does a good job on expanding the game, but the decisions that are being made that affect CW are made by people that either are biased based on their personal experience, aren't the competitive persons or just stay around (McSic, if he had anything to do with this at all) for the sake of it.

That just made zero sense, how the f do you do damage with a sniper when you cant aim... i mean its possible to hit with a shotgun if you aim right besides them, but a sniper has zero spread. Also this whole thread is about removing sniper from cw (the new donor one) [can you even read?]

On another note, do you people even know what counters short range (shotguns)? The answer is long range (snipers). Now i know al the happy glitching shotgun users dont like it that there finally is a gun that can stand up to the high abuse of shotguns, you might even say that they refuse to see what it really does, cause like this shotguns are the only usable guns for cw's as you cant abuse the system and spray at the same time/spray damage is too low for that, which equals only shotguns in cw. Its why a lot of people stay out of it (theres no real weapon choise).
ITT: Butthurt shotgun users learning their favorite weapon is actually overpowered too.

Stop talking as if you developed this game and balanced all the items. The snipers aren't balanced whatsoever in this game, and I don't think our devs are capable of coming up with a good solution that would balance these weapons. Sure they're fun to play around with, but snipers together with most of the custom added types of weapons don't fit in CW.

In my opinion, snipers weren't meant for gunz in general, snipers were added to gunz while it was being developed (yes sniper was an actual weapon class since the beginning), but they were never finished (hence why our coders had to finish the sniper scope etc), in tests concluded that it was just unfit for gunz, snipers are not for gunz, if it were, they would've been added since the beginning, you can believe me on my word.
Well in that case lets just try to balance them, seems better to me then exclude them from a wanted type of gameplay (CW), as the way it is now people don't really play it cause they cant use their weapon of choice. I mean, the sniper is a long range weapon, maybe they could code it so at short range the damage is halved? (no idea if such thing is possible, but its a suggestion).
Also im not talking like I developed the game, i'm just defending my point: No weapon should be excluded from such a wanted type of gameplay.
I think it's true. Balancing is probably the hardest part of competitive game development. Everyone can make models and textures, create animations and develop maps. Actually balancing these is a whole different story. Why do you think there have been about a dozen arguments about snipers in CW? About unbalanced donor weapons? I'm not trying to undermine their status, I'm just not convinced whatsoever that they have a clue about game balancing. Probably one of the reasons that you don't see them discussing in these threads to often, let alone give a solid argument against or for some discussions.
Like I said in a few posts back, CW is probably the only thing that really worked for this game. If you strip GunZ down to it's core, it's the competitive element where players get their motivation from. You'll see this in TDM and Duels as well, but especially CW really works well, it always has. I also mentioned that I think our dev team did a wonderful job adding content to the game, making it more accessible for the casual player. We have some fun maps and modes, some silly weapons that are fun to play around with every now and then.
Based on my experience in this community, the balancing is just not going to happen. Perhaps some guys will fill in some other random numbers that feel right for them. Most of them don't really play the game, let alone play the hardcore CW. I don't think they have the knowledge or insight to really balance these weapons out, it's not that easy. And even if we as community members would like to keep them, but in a balanced way, they probably don't really care since that is the way most of them are.

All of the SG/REV/ etc or whatever, says "sniper op as fk" "remove snipe" is like wtf? What about your little toy thing called Shot Guns/Revys? Weren't they OP as fk too? Just standing there and spamming all the way? Not being biased here, I'm both SG and Snipe user but I excel most in Snipe, in my opinion, Snipe requires skill and good aiming, there are players who fkng uses snipe but still can't aim good. Shot Guns requires skill too, but most of the time it was abused cause low delay, so spam all day.
And it is implemented on the game, why not just like move on and practice to get some skills at what weapon you suck though?

yo if you do use snipers and you would be decent you know how easy it is to 2 shoot ppl across the map, snipers don't requiere skill and should be nerfed
1. the -20% speed doesnt matter because k-style you can still dhs with it
2. you can spam it pretty much like revs/sg's
3. the damage is insane should be 3 hits instead 2 since it isnt hard to aim
4. sg's harder than sniper

How about instead of removing it, make the gun actually make sense first. It seems to me the aiming is a big issue. People say you can easily pick someone off from across the map when scoping. And with the damage these snipers come with, no shit that's OP. But GunZ is a third-person game. Why give someone first-person aim in a third-person game ? Lol I've played a server that had third-person aiming with snipers. Thousand ****ing times harder. Why not just lower the damage a bit and add in third-person aiming ?

A few suggestions worth trying I guess...
a) Being able to equip only one sniper at a time. Period. Being able to have 6 chances for a 2 shot (even more if you spam ammo clips) is just ridiculous. In addition, this forces the high delay times of the snipers to actually matter as you need to precisely aim. Fk up the first shot? Too bad, wait the approx. 2 and a half seconds and fire another shot. Something with a sure-fire 100+ damage should NOT be able to be spammed. This method is the best way without actually touching the weapons directly and allow for a different secondary.
b) Though the physics on this one seems a bit dull, it's another way to attempt to try and balance them out. Having damage fall-off (Fancy term for the further the shot goes, the less damage it gives). I'd doubt anyone would be for this, considering a weapon such as a sniper would never have this kind of feature and the next issue being "Is this even possible to add on gunz?". But the idea is to make extra long distance shots damage less, to a maximum of a 50% fall-off (or any number that seems reasonable, but 75 damage still hurts) while keeping closer range shots even stronger.
I'm only throwing ideas, because obviously there's a border between Snipers and everyone else. To the point where they don't even wanna play against each other, which is just simple improper balancing. I suggest others making some sort of suggestion rather than "Nerf" because they won't do shit about it unless they get an idea or two running along. I only posted 2 minor possibilities, but hopefully there might be something better that comes along.
Well, the problem is the #1 strategy with shotguns currently is to run away while spamming them. But if you just run away, you make it easier for snipers to shoot you. Instead of changing, people keep fleeing and they just cry about it afterwards. Funny thing is, seeing how everybody jumps on any overpowered thing in this game, I recon shotguns are the OP ones ^^; but that's just me

Well, real spamming is what you do with shotguns, and what you can't do with snipers. In fact, before a nerf, I think they should be un-bugged. Currently if you're too fast, the second shot will not shoot. It will still trigger a delay though. As far as damage fall off, you realise that's exactly what shotguns are right? high damage up close and low damage farther away. But they do just as much if not more than a sniper up close, have spread in case of a miss, are nearly impossible to miss with, spammable and have ridicoulous ammo clips. Shotguns with the damage fgunz has used to be called avengers and had 2 ammo. Talking about balance....
It has nothing to do with weapon balance, the only thing is people only run away from each other while spamming shotguns; if you don't believe me, just try to go S against someone who does B. They will run away, literally back pedal and shoot because they are scared to get close. Now put that same attitude vs a Sniper, it doesn't work just as well. But since people can't think of anything else or can't accept that they aren't the uber-mlg-prozz they thought they were, they blame it on the weapons and cry some more.
