New Server, Host + New Update! (September 19th, 2012)

Hey Freestylers,

we're happy to announce a few great changes at Freestyle GunZ.

1. New Host and Server
2. New Update

Due to much server lag and connection problems lately (random D/Cs, lag, slow downloads, etc.) we have decided to go with a new hosting company and upgrade the server. The new FGunZ host is at the same company as these forums, the support is great and the server's network is good too.
We have decided to go with the best server of the hosting company, the download speed / network of the new server is also much better than our current FGunZ host.

Here are the specs of our new Dedicated server:
- Xeon E3-1230, 4x 3.20 GHz
- 16GB RAM
- 128GB Samsung SSD + 500 GB HDD
- 1 GBit Connection
- 5TB traffic
- Windows 2008 Standard

Hehehehehe. No other GunZ server is as fast as ours. :)


Also, here's a list of our brand new features (update):

• Brand new custom scoreboard (for DM and TDM, with scrolling support for 64+ players) - We're the only server to have this! :D

• Gold members can now join full rooms
• Fixed certain issues related to the damage counter
• Fixed some bugs
• Emblems should show up properly in-game now
• All screen resolutions are now supported, except 640x480

• Added Event Team
• Fixed Halo Map
• New "Darker" map, re-made by HellSniper

A big thanks to Linear88 (for coding all this ^) and Superwaffle (for preparing the new server, moving the database and files) !

Awesome, I had many agent errors in game. Got annoyed sometimes, especially during GM events. Thanks for the update and fixing some problems!

Nice update , I wish you guys could add the 640 x 480 resolution back in the next patch

I'm assuming that Gold Members without VIP tags ingame can't enter rooms that are full heh?

Since I turned my jjang on, it removed my tag lol

One of the best updates I've ever seen lately, thanks McSic, SuperWaffle and Linear, lets not forget the Developers who fixed map bugs, etc.

The update is generally great, on the other hand, the new scoreboard should be changed back or make it transparent, it blocks our view while playing.

That's what I also noticed while playing. I would like to play with the older scoreboard.

What about Gold Members joining full rooms? Has that been capped to a certain amount of players?

If there is already a room with a VIP member in it, I think the others cannot join in it, as I saw that Keite was playing in a duel room and when I tried to join in it I received the message " Room is full. "

Could've been a bug, who knows.

Scoreboard transparency will be adjusted.

I changed my resolution to 1366 x 768 and it looks like this http://tinypic.com/r/mufp6p/6 . Half the character is cut off. Can you zoom the character out.

Exactly what he said. Im getting the same problem

I find the scoreboard still a bit annoying, can't see myself fighting while checking the scoreboard. Plus I've seen it before on a screenshot that got posted at this forum. =/

Would be nice if you made the text on the score board a little bigger :L

Great update i like everything about it except for the scoreboard, i liked the old score board very much you could just easily and fast check your score without having to search, also in cw it looked too difficult couldnt see my clan emblem also. But im sure you won't bring the old schore board back so overal good job

The score board is also anoying my eye's when it pops up,Wish you guys just left it original.

Awesome update. I have to agree that I would like the scoreboard back the old way, but old scoreboard or not, it's still a great update.

Event Team was thought of weeks ago :P VIPs were told about it 2 weeks ago.

Scoreboard will not be reverted. Just get used to it.

Take a look at your own connection and PC first.

After the update, people wont stop spiking all the time, everywhere I join, I see them spiking so hard like they are using wi-fi connection..

yeah, could some1 explain what the even team is ;o
still nice update! now I can join full rooms :p + server is faster, helps a lot ;)

Event team = Normal players that have the ability to help GM`s and host there own events. They didn`t give much info about it. I`m sure they`ll clear it up once they pick their GM`s

I got a huge lagg issues since this updated jumped over! It's TOO MUCH! I pick up my charracter, it takes about 2 mins till it load the clan channel screen.
Takes long to join a room! Shooting person takes long till it show affects, DROPPING MEDS TAKE YEAR TO HEAL!
In addition to this, I've been annoyed by being called . SPIKER/LAGGER/Kicking out.
This is reall annoying, Please I need serious help with it, someone try to help me
I've tried restarted the router/the PC , nothing helps.
What else should I do!

I've bought new pc 1 week ago. I\ve got the highest thing's cooperated in this PC.

- Fixed scoreboard hints appearing when it wasn't possible to scroll
- Fixed a bug where it wasn't possible to join password protected rooms
- Fixed a bug related to creating rooms in the event channel
- Fixed crash related to items
