Game Launch error (3)!! but DEP is off

I appear to be getting the "Game Launch Error" error in my mlog.txt when I try to launch the game, but I have already turned DEP completely off.

I have tried various compatibility modes on the Launcher.exe, Gunz.exe and Gunz64.exe none of which make a difference, the Launcher seems to do its job okay, as is evidenced by the launcher's log file, but the game runnables do not launch (they give errors saying cannot run in compatibility mode). I also have UAC turned off, but I have also set the .exe's to run as admin anyway.

tl;dr, your launcher is not starting, correct?

What about your anti-virus? I believe this is sometimes caused by your anti-virus which prevents the runnable from starting.
Compatibility mode should be turned off.

Make sure you also have administrative rights wherever your FGunZ is installed.

The launcher runs fine, and sits on 'Starting Game...' for a bit when I click Launch. Then the Launcher closes but the game doesn't open.

I don't use any Anti-Virus, or at least no passive protection, I only use On-Demand scanners which I run regularly.

I have given my user full control of the FGunz files, and changed owner of all files to me too.

turn off windows firewall then load the starter run gunz once ingame turn back on.

someones gotta teamviewer this cause its hard to tell from here what it could be did you try deleting config.xml in your gunz directory then loading gunz &

- When you are completely sure that you now permitted all of the users, apply all the changes by clicking "Apply > Okay".
- You should now have full administrative rights on the FGunZ folder.
- Try to run the Launcher as Administrator > FGunZ should start loading.

No config.xml has even yet been generated, the game has never loaded for it to do so.

I don't have a config.xml file.

I had already tried repairing the VC redists, this didn't work, I have now just tried uninstalling them and reinstalling them with the included installers and this hasn't worked either.

Can anyone even give me an idea as to what the errors mean?

EDIT: I have now tried uninstalling the VC Redists and FGunz with IOBit Uninstaller, userful Powerful Scan, I then re-downloaded the installer with the Torrent link and installed a fresh copy. Still no luck.

Could one of the client devs look at this? Seems to me like the only people who can offer assistance are those with means to debug the client. The rest of us have no idea what "game launch error" no. 3 could possibly mean, as it's not very helpfully named. I had a cursory glance at the binaries but that string isn't present in ASCII so it's either in a data file, compressed or obfuscated.

But rather than me wasting my time trying to debug a foreign, compiled codebase, how about one of you guys with green names show up and lend a hand? =)

Do not run it from a second hard drive, install and run on C Drive only (or whichever is OS install drive)!
