Can't see a wireframe, but looking at the hard edges I feel like you're using too many edges / faces. With regards to the texture, you're not unwrapping are you? Seems to me that you applied an attempt to tile-able textures to selected faces. Try to look into unwrapping and then take another look at texturing. Would like to see some progress on this :)

With regards to texturing, to me anyways it's a talent on itself. Creating good textures, tile-able or unwrapped is just hard and requires more effort. And honestly, most people tend to just make the model and don't care about the textures, but the end result is mostly consisted of the texture instead of the model (especially models like weapons). It's no secret that software like 3DS max or Maya is better than something like Blender. In my opinion, if you're looking to just make something pretty than you're better of using different software.Quote:
