Project "Saving Gunz" a remake!

Hello,
first thanks for the big community since the gunz released and still there are People online after this years who comes with ideas, typing tutorials and posting new stuff ore just play the Game, with very impressive skills that can blow your mind!
I thank Freestyle GunZ to hold this huge community!

For the lazy people some answer;
I create a Game with the GunZ gameplay.
The Gameplay will be like in GunZ 1

About me;
I´m working right now in my free time on my new Project, called Saving GunZ.
My age is 22 and i life right now in Austria, there are nice landscapes and huge mouton's who gives me inspiration all the time.
I call myself an Artist but i just like to Development and Design Games.
I work in my own Studio using Blender, Max, Photoshop and Unity Engine with MonoDevelop to get a Game to life!

About the Project;
Like the title, it will be GunZ with new Graphic, new Interface based on DX11 frame synchronization(0.02 timestep).
Real-time light and shadow system.
Realistic effects who interact with the Player and the Local map.
The basic Movements will be the same like in the original.
A full based Mechanism Movement without a root Transform.

I will release the Alpha in like a Month.
The alpha is just to test stuff and get feedback.
But finely it comes out when it comes out, but it comes to 100%.

Why i post this right now?
I spend a lord of time in this Project and i like to talk about it first.

Maybe you know Wolfenstein 3d its very old and its more then dead but wolfenstein got the same core concept like the COD series.
Im talking about a new game, this will be a game with the core concept of gunz.
I doesnt metter if its dead.

PS: the game is dying because it´s not evolve, evolving in any ways.
The reason #Choropoppin is because the Engine is very limited, there is no space for more Gameplay ore Graphic.
I saw people changing some Quests, creating new items but this isnt the core, its just like changing the color of the interface ore useless modding.

because when you put people as the owners who dont even play the game as people in charge thats what you result

maiet let ijji host ok it was abit money orientated but after aeria took over it was just completely money orientated, how can you put people in charge who dont even play the game, when you have a game its better to have someone in the team who is active in the game competitively in all aspects e.g. gunz quest & cw once you have someone in the team with that they can tell their developers/coders what is needed and actually understand where the players come from when a player does an suggestion.

Hes not making gunz. Using the same animations/moves in gunz (e.g kstyle, dash, etc) hes trying to make a new game with updated gfx from what I've understood.

Verstehe nicht wieso du bei privat server foren dein thread von ragezone kopierst.
Hype machen schön und gut allerdings solltest du was richtiges vorweisen können bevor man hype aufbaut.
Man denke nur an die flops aus denen keiner zu lernen scheint, wo spiele gehypt werden und ein totaller reinfall sind.
Solange du das gameplay und das gefühl nicht kopieren kannst wird die gunz community das projekt nicht weiter verfolgen, ähnlich wie gunz 2.
Ein teil findet es gut und ein großer teil findet es nicht gut.

Naja zum teil wollte ich nur informieren, zum thema gameplay hab ich, zuminderst glaub ich schon eine gewisse ahnung da ich das spiel seit 8 jahren spiele und auch ingame mit leuten rede was ihnen wichtig ist und ich merke ja selbst was toll ist, gunz 2 finde ich einfach nur scheiße ;)
Ich habe bestimmt nicht vor soetwas zu machen.
Zum thema warum ich noch nicht mehr fotos und videos gepostet habe vom game ist ganz simpel, nehmlich weil ich selbst gereade so weit beim entwickeln im game bin wie du bei den fotos siehst, momentan bin ich beim wall run und wall jump.
Aber manche sachen gehen schneller wie andere, ich hätte nicht damit gerechnet das ich 5 tage bei den wall runs und wall jumps verbringe aber es ist schon sehr viel zu tun in dem gebiet.
Ich werde eine Offline alpha rausbringen um zu prüfen ob das gameplay das selbe ist, dann werde ich ein server system hinzufügen wo jeder der in der lage ist einen server zu machen, seinen hinzufügen kann.
Ich kann leider jetzt nur reden weil noch nicht so weit bin, ich hoffe es ist ok ;)

So the reason why i post this in the Develop section in other Forums is to informate people, i know that not all of yours using the same Platform to talk about GunZ, about the Gameplay, i play this game a long time and i talk much ingame about the Gameplay and i think i feel when the feeling in my game is a other, and i will try to fix it to get the same.
I dont try to do a second gunz, i only create a game with no name a no reason project.
I dont wana do GunZ 2 because i dont like it ;)
Some People are interesting but asking me why i dont upload more pictures ore videos about it, so the reason is simple, i just havnt more to show now, im working right now on the wall run and wall jump and i was wondering why this need so much time, (5 days for 7 moves is long for me) but ther is much more behind the scene as i was imagine.
First if i done the gameplay i will do a Offline Alpha to test the feeling of the Gameplay and i realy hope for feedback.
If the gameplay works fine i will create a server system and add it to the game so every who can create a server can host player and add his fun ore what every he want to have in his server, like the server system in counter strike sounds interesting to me.
But now i realy can just talk about because im working now on the gameplay and not on the other stuff, i hope its ok for you ;)

Im grunde gibt es mommentan noch nichts wirkliches zum vorzeigen.
Ein model in einer test map zu spawnen ist nichts was irgendjemand beeindruckt.
Du würdest mehr interesse und feedback erhalten hättest du was festeres vorzuweisen.
Der hauptgrund warum gunz nicht mehr so beliebt ist, ist weil es kaum guten content gibt bzw weil maiet keinen interessanten neuen content erstellt hat.
Man kan noch so viele sets den leuten ins gesicht glatschen, wen es keinen content gibt der das gameplay in irgendeiner weise frisch hält dan geht das interesse der spieler schnell verloren.
Content den gunz dringend gebraucht hatte/braucht sind interessante spiel modi, pve das fordert und neu ist, neue item typen aber vorallem braucht gunz abwechslung.
Das problem der abwechslung ist fast mehr community lastig, der großteil community spielt hauptsächlich immer nur die gleichen maps (garden,mansion,port) und tdm beschwären sich dan aber das gunz langweilig geworden ist.
Die grafik ist den leuten egal, ein spiel brauch keine mörder grafik um erfolg zu haben (siehe minecraft, runescape etc.), es reicht den leuten schon wen man ein paar nette effekte einbaut (dynamische schatten/beleuchtung, neue/schönere animationen, kantenglättung, bloom etc.).

So yea, thats the reason why i finely create it in my own engine, i was running in much problems if i was trying to mod the existing game.
We all know that graphic is´nt all and we and the player know having fun is not a graphic stuff.
But to add something to a game whats have effect to all in it you need to know the kernel of your game!
For me now with my own game kernel i can simply add everything, from quests to pvp to open, closed worlds items who have effects to specific situations like the time ore the look of the other player camera, there is no limit now set by a other Studio!
I can create a live Camera in the Lobby they can face a Top Player ore something like the best quester ore the Highest Level Player idk.
You can destroy a wall by slashing it, there is no limit, you never will get this choice of adding stuff in the existing Gunz engine.

Just tell me what you like, there is no limit, thats why i was telling you guys about it!
Help me with some ideas to make it Awesome and Cool and Funny.

I guess sword carvings in the wall when it was slashed would be cool, like the current bulletholes (however with an option to not make them dissapear) Also destroyable/moveable object could be a thing. Just as interactive objects like moving hanging lamps when being jumped against/at. Also torches being able to burn your AP away for a few seconds and stuff like that. (maybe even a swim function for deep water?).

That could do for like weaker objects, however stronger objects shouldn't be cut that easily x)

looks pretty cool! do you have it capped at 80 fps or is that just how it runs? because that seems slow for a game like gunz

This doesnt metter in this version, i coded the input in fixed Timesteps, so the original Gunz was frame rate based (Input -> frame rate -> Output (Character is moving)).
In this version i using delta time (Input -> delta time -> Output(Character is moving))

Well im just talk about it, i know a small answer will do the same but im bored...

Delta Time is a very small unit, how small you can change in the Engine im unsing.
(delta time is now on 0.01 in my editor(I can change it up ore down, its a performance stuff))

1 frame per second = 25 Frames (This is the norm)
1 frame per second = 100 delta Timesteps (on 0.01 timestep)

So the Character understand 3 Times faster how to move and what button in your Keyboard/Mouse was pressed.

If you have 80 FPS in this game you have the same Gameplay like you running the original GunZ with (75/25 = 3), 80*3 FPS = 240 FPS.
This is just for the Input, how fast your game is rendering is up to your GPU and CPU, ore APU if you use one.

Maybe i change the Timestep down to 0.005 that means if your game running on 60 FPS so, 1 Frame per seconds = 200 delta Timesteps - 25 = 175/25 = 7*60 = 420 FPS in the original GunZ

But i think you dont need 420 FPS input speed.

PS: this is why tbf isnt working very well on a to high FPS Count because the game is to accurat

Don't use delta time then lol. & just so you know, 250fps = the ideal fps in gunz. Every animation cancels fastest at 250fps. It's how I' was able to dngx3 & dngx4 back when people were still doing dngx2.

none of that makes a tick of sense, but i'm assuming you're trying to say that input is decoupled from rendering, which is COOL

You should try to hire some people or get them work with you, I actually got interested and I'm willing to try the game out (if you finish it's development in the near 2016).

This is more like GunZ 1.5 as it uses better graphics with the same exploitable animations :o.o

I think you won't be posting any video's at all, This is just a guess, All i have seen is "The play mode" and the "Scenario" For the rest no codes no nothing. I could easly get a random rig and just place the character in positions then release some screenshots and state i'm remaking something.
Not hating or anything, I just want proof so i can actually believe in your project and support it with all my heart.

Looks kinda choppy (laggy). The wallrun glitches your feet and legs through the wall sometimes and the slide feels kinda long. I love the walljump animation, however the walking looks really awkward (like you gotta take a shit somewhere soon).

Haven't seen slashing yet (guess it still isn't coded, but that's okay).
