Yes x1000 please make this a permanent option. I know that it's been suggested in the past before, but I don't remember if staff ever got back to the suggestion or not.
It's bad enough people find loopholes in the rules to avoid mutes and bans from spamming/excessive trash talking. They can even put the ignore list underneath the friend's list in the lobby, so that they don't need to redo the interface where the Lobby/Friends/Clan part is. Can just scroll underneath all your friends and see a list of ignored users underneath if you need to unmute someone.

Sounds good but will require another tab to show the ignored users and that I'm not sure if possible

Good suggestion, one problem that might occur is reports on spike/lag since people usually report spike/lag after a player completely ignores the fact that they are spiking to people. For example we get a screenshot/replay of the person saying you're spiking and the player is calling you out in chat but you're completely ignoring them, That's the only scenario I can see that could be a bad factor but its more unlikely to happen. I think a thing that can prevent that is an icon showing the player is ignoring you.
