Anything to give the weapon counterplayability should be welcome imo. I know players don't like the weapon but I believe its not because its just annoying. I imagine its because its hard to play against.

I agree, I just played yesterday and a trail would balance it out more. Maybe like a flame / rocket, since its a rocket launcher.
