FGunZ MASSIVE Update // 05 JUN 2022
Hey Freestylers

YES! It's time for a massive update! (no pun intended)

FGUNZ UPDATE // 05 JUNE 2022

INCREASED TICK RATE
- Better performance / smoother gameplay
- Increased tick rate from 10 to 20-125 using a dynamic tick rate depending on the amount of players in the room:
- 1-4 players: 125 ticks
- 5-8 players: 83 ticks
- 9-12 players: 66 ticks
- 13-16 players: 40 ticks
- 17+ players: 20 ticks
- Which means the tick rate has doubled in worst case and is now 12.5x higher in best case!
IMPROVED INGAME CHAT
- Increased amount of chat lines
- Added chat history (up to 100 lines)
- Added chat scroll support
- Added chat background when active (based on your chat transparency setting)
- Added chat fade out effect (5 seconds after last message)
- Added 31 new emojis
- The chat input field length now increases for the length of /whisper + name, so whispers don't get shortened anymore
COMMAND CHANGES
- Added /r2 and /r3 allowing you to quick reply to the second-last whisperer and third-last whisperer (works same way as /r)
- Added /ping command (shows server ping)
- Improved /h command
- Removed /freestyle command -> use /h instead
- /online is now an alternative to /players (shows amount of players online)
- /time shows how long you have been online today
- Changed /forcenat to /nat (you can still use /forcenat as alternative)
- Changed /truefalse to /tf
- Added /emotes as alternative for /emojis
- Added /colours as alternative for /colors
- Added /delay command which allows you to set the delay of your currently selected ranged training weapon in training modes, usage: /delay <500~9999 or 0 for default>
- Added 2 second cooldowns to the commands: roll, 8ball, coinflip, tf
REWORKED ELO SYSTEM
- All elo has been reset
- Reworked the elo system and fixed a bunch of existing bugs
- Replaced elo tier icons with new icons and added sub-tier icons
- You get the best icon at > 6000 elo
- In CW, you gain 2x positive elo
- You gain/lose less elo in: private rooms (0.2x), RPG mode (0.1x)
- All elo of all characters is reduced by 1% every day where elo > 1500 to combat AFKing on high elo and to make it harder to keep high elo
REWORKED LARGE SWORDS
- All large swords now have the ability to block when on the ground
- Decreased weight of all large swords (single: 20 -> 15, dual: 40 -> 30)
- Increased damage of single large swords
- Increased delay of dual large swords
MORE CHANGES
- Generally fixed some client crashes, server crashes and bugs
- Added Random Outfit Generator button for shop clothes with seperate buy button to instantly purchase (and equip) the generated outfit

- Added 'Show Damage On Enemy' option (shows last hit damage on enemy characters) -- Enable it at Options -> Video -> [IV] -> 'Show Damage On Enemy' (Disabled per default)
- Changed 'Limit Level' game room option to 'Limit Elo', allowing you to set max elo caps for your rooms
- Added a game room option so players can choose whether or not VIPs should be able to join their full rooms
- Fixed grey flags bug in game room when TDM
- Fixed AFK auto kick crash
- Reduced ingame AFK auto kick time from 10 minutes to 3 minutes
- Reduced game room AFK auto kick time from 15 minutes to 5 minutes
- Damage Counter now shows last hit damage for 1.5 seconds
- Added message that shows your clan contribution points when you're in your clan channel (points are updated when you relog)
- When you're scoping with sniper (and it's not Team Training), team mates are shown as half transparent, making it easier to distinguish them from enemies
- The unlocked camera, which is used for end of wallrun, is now an option which you can toggle at Misc -> [ II ] -> 'Unlocked Camera' (enabled per default)
- The character model now looks where the player is looking in all actions (e.g. when jumping)
- Added fading character transparency when looking down
- Cleaned up the room creation menu: Rearranged all room mods (A-Z), Removed unused room mods
- WIW (Weapon Spawns) mod now works on all maps that have HP/AP/Ammo spawns and all modes except for Spymode/Gungame/Infected/Gladiator
- Fixed massive / lunge damage in Rusty Mod
- Moved APM text to the top right corner (where FPS and time are located)
- Sell-all button will now also sell common lvl 0 clothes
- Arena: Added 2 red side and blue side spawns
- Mine: Optimized size and textures
- Mine: Added 2 red side spawns (top side of the map)
- Mine: Added 4 blue side spawns (bottom side of the map)
- Skillmap V40: Swapped team spawn positions
- Wall2Wall: Added 32 solo spawns

- NEW: Made some changes that allow jumping forward and back in replays properly (not perfect, but good enough), such as being able to jump forward or back to a kill to see the kill again (and not having to wait until the character spawns in the replay)

The feedback has been positive so far.

Reported Issues:

#1
One issue I've noticed is that: If you're sitting in a game room of an ongoing TDM, the game will lag for you every once in a while. Nothing that ruins the game, as it only happens in the game room, but we will fix that regardless. Edit: Seems to happen when someone joins or leaves the room while you are in game room. Edit: Fixed in next update.

#2
Weapon spawns seem to happen in rooms that don't have Weapon Spawns enabled. Edit: Fixed in next update.

Server crashes. Edit: Still investigating the cause. Edit2: Found the cause. Caused by a staff command. Fixed in next update.

Thanks for the update. Looks good.

Can we get an option to disable auto kick function in training rooms? I don't understand the point of being kicked out every 5 minutes in a training room it's obnoxious. Like i can't even minimize the game and watch a youtube video that someone's recommended to me. If i do when i come back to talk about it I'm out of the room and the other person has left because they assume i just left the game.

It makes sense to just remove the AFK kick from regular training rooms.

There hasn't been any complains yet, but if Gladiators feel like the character turns too invisible when looking down, let us know. We can adjust and increase the visibility.

I am testing the new chat in game and the chat fade out effect seems a little short, and my chat disappears a lot mid conversation with people. Would it be possible to have some more options in videos tab to enable/lengthen/disable that effect?

Would it also be possible to get options for all the new chat features like amount of lines displayed too?

One new emoji that was added kinda interferes with chat too atm. The "??" emoji. Could that combination be changed to something like ?> or ?< so ???? still works as normally?

EDIT: After more time with the new chat, here's some things I noticed:
When you're scrolling back up in the chat and someone types something new, it immediately pulls your chat back down to the newest message.
It would be really nice if the mousewheel worked to scroll the chat up and down too.

if u put "show dmg markers on character" on, u can see for a few seconds which way the enemy is going
its like having a legal esp. but the concept is very nice.

is it possible to change the colors?

so for like low dmg shot -> red
mid dmg shot -> green
high dmg shot -> blue

u can choose the colors obviously this is just a suggestion

Yeah it's true that it gives an advantage in that sense. But it's one option among many that give an advantage vs players using default settings, such as: archetype, archetype v2, whitemaps, regular damage counter. So, like the other options, I don't think it's as bad when everyone has the option to use them. But for the future, we could make it disappear when an enemy is out of sight / behind a wall.

We will test different colors for different damage and see how it looks.

Due to the way it works, currently, no. It would be pretty delayed when spectating others, like the damage counter when you spectate others, which is also very delayed sometimes. Maybe in future.

It seems that massive damage has been normalized when using rusty sword stats to 15. This is not in accordance with how the rusty sword works, because critical hits/hits from closer range as opposed to farther away deal varying damage, from around 11 damage to a possible 30-35, but its all on 15 now. this incentivizes spam slashing because massives are no longer as beneficial.

- NEW: Made some changes that allow jumping forward and back in replays properly (not perfect, but good enough), such as being able to jump forward or back to a kill to see the kill again (and not having to wait until the character spawns in the replay)
Edit: Forgot to update /emojis to show the emoji as ?> instead of ?? now. We'll fix that next time.

is there a way to have people who are queued in cw, does /go , and goes to play in a room, to be able to leave immediately when they get into a cw? I've had this happen multiple times whereby when i get pulled into a cw mid-tdm, i leave the tdm at the exact same time as i enter the cw, and the game just breaks. You can't immediately leave in the tdm if you get hit, so it leaves with a timer, and you cant see the timer at all since its blocked by the cw map-poll.

Kinda confusing but yea

oh yea, and spectating looks weird rn, seems like the player is aimbotting

recoils are once again broken in gladiator....constant double recoil on both players, recoil happening over spamming of block and massives get cancelled mid animation due to a slash

The CW suggestion is a difficult one to test and debug, but I'll see what I can do.

Regarding the spectate being weird, that's because when you spectate, the player data get smoothened, otherwise spectating would be very jittery due to the high tick rate. Perhaps the smooth is too much, we can easily adjust that.

I believe the problem resides in the fact that blocks require 1 tick to become "able to recoil" someone within range, which is not how glad works, because you can't be recoiled by someone spamming bf. the block has to be a long block (not sure about tick numbers).
Im not sure however whats causing used up massives to disappear because of a slash.

The movement mode of the game is impressionable, the character feels very light, for that a 100/10 and without counting the random clothes, you saved us a job in showing off the clothes. Good job!

Lol it's not hard to get bounty anyways. Why not make bounty useful somehow, it's doing nothing in game. Back in ijji we used to use it for in game boxes to get special items gold box green box, items like shura? Golden guns etc.

Yeah, that would be nice. Currently, the bounty is all over the place. Not just the bounty gain, but also the amount of bounty characters have. The gap between the characters with the most bounty (#1 891.709.783, #2 803.267.872, #3 626.699.507) and average bounty of all characters where bounty > 100.000 (= 464.170) is huge. The top character has 1921 times more bounty than the average with > 100.000. Those players probably wouldn't be happy with us resetting all bounty, but we would have to do that, if we were to add such content.

I do think we should do something with the bounty and a reset would be better than doing nothing with it. If nothing happens, then those users would still have millions of bounty and will have nothing to do with it, while a reset would give us the opportunity to do something with it. So yea, it sucks but it's better than doing nothing.

Just add an option to convert all bounty to real money, everyone will be happy XD

I'm not sure how unhappy they could be since there's literally nothing you can spend bounty on, essentially they're losing nothing to gain new features.

An idea could be that when or if you do the reset, everyone get's something for their bounty. Like an custom item depending on what ranking you were on the bounty list before the reset or whatever some smart dev can come up with :)
