it would be good to have a gladiator mode that forces all swords or kodachi to do rusty sword or rusty kodachi damge and delay
This way you can have the look of any sword and still fair gameplay in gladiator rooms
The lame shotgun only tag exists so i dont see why this couldnt
similar to the "No donations roomtag", I'm pretty sure this is something they don't want to add even if every player who plays gladiator knows not to play with anything but a rusty.
It would be a nice addition though, even if just for using whichever style of sword we want and keep the damage.

I have been trying to get this for like, literally 7 years now at fgunz. There are so many little things they could do to make gladiator rooms significantly better.
I also think it's similar to "no donations roomtag", if we allow something like this then we might as well allow something like "force shotguns in tdms to be with pioneer + b9's stats" which still shouldn't be a thing imo.
However, if the glad community supports this suggestion then I personally wouldn't mind having it as a "Game option" (https://imgur.com/a/TKQbMEf).

Dead ass the community has backed this for years and years, I don't know how after all this time people can still make that argument. I know you like to go into games with donor kodachi and donor elements Ommadawn, and as you know I do the same thing from time to time. But there's some times when you're playing gunz you don't want it to be a terribly, ****ed awful shit experience because of stuff like that. There is nothing wrong with promoting a balanced and less toxic gameplay experience at an optional level from room to room.
I don't know why you think it has something to do with me using a fire element in glad rooms, I simply use it in big BA rooms cuz I know I get targeted sometimes and I love trolling people back :o.o As I said above, I personally don't mind having it as a "Game option", I don't think it should be forced into EVERY GLAD ROOM, that's all. It doesn't work, what you just said is a non-argument and it's been tried/said repeatedly for years, that is what literally everyone has said that doesn't give a shit or " doesn't see the point " or whatever for the history of this game. It keeps getting brought up on repeat by the players, if it worked we wouldn't be having this conversation. Insta swords, daggers, anything that isn't a sword isn't just about p2w items, or any of that shit. We're talking about quality of life changes for gameplay.
It sounds like basically all that needs to be done is force a certain damage + range + delay on all melee weapons in the room, no matter what the melee weapon is. We don't even need a "sword only" mode or anything that excludes other melees if we force the same damage + range + delay on all melee weapons (as a room option), amirite?Quote:

We're talking about a room option here. In the last few months when I've been online I would say there are times that 5-6 active lobbies are all different gladiator rooms. Sometimes there are significantly more gladiator rooms available to play overall, shocking but really great to see honestly. I know what you mean, sometimes I feel excluded when I join a TDM, didn't check tags and load in to realize I don't have part of my equipment anymore because of [SGO] etc and then have to change up my shit. But at that point you can either bring it over to another room, make your own room, or just get used to what every other person in that room is doing. If it's an option it's not something that should really effect you that badly, nothing is stopping anyone from making their own room. What it really does is promote a better competitive environment. It would be an excellent option to force swords only and rusty stats, to make an environment where barebones sword combat :4 is all that is happening. That's not everyones type of room anyway so I wouldn't expect it to become the new meta.Quote:

I've seen some backlash in chat and comments in this thread, but I don't think all of them actually participate in glad combat. Since this mode affects glad-players the most, I think their opinion matters the most here - as Ommadawn pointed out.

This is also already a change that I had implemented on another server and it was popular amongst gladiators and didn't interfere with other rooms. There's no good reason to not make this simple change.
