It was supposed to be a shotgun at the beginning, but the handle isn't very shotgun like. Therefore, I think Pistol is It's best position as of now. Unless most people consider other wise.

Still high for the avarage GunZ items (if it is for GunZ).
Just look at how MAIET build their stuff and you know what their avarage polycount for items is.
But around 500 will be okay :).

I'll never make an item as shitty as Maiet's, they live off shadows thou. I rather not, they consider 256 rams, and 10 gb hardrive, super low quality video cards. It's bad, making an item that low, with any details is just terrefying.

Lets use DG as an example, 2000 verts on some swords, and 1500+ shotguns and pistols. No lagg. We cant compare a private server which has probably 30-800 thousand accounts registered. To Ijji, which has over 2.5 million. Items mostly start to lagg if you have 16-20 users using it in the same room. Polygons over 1000 lower it to 8-10. The possibilities aren't very likely, but then again. EVENTS.

Average 600-, but double shotguns, and double pistols contain double the vertices. Think about it, vertices aren't a huge issue. Double pistols all together reach 1000 verts, as well as shotguns.

It is now Aeria and they have done mass banning, they are transferring accounts, than they are deleting unactive accounts. It will drop to about 20k probably.

I wish you'd have read anything I replied. If you're able to use a double pistol without a problem in Gunz, you are able to use any weapon below 2000 verts. Vert count only takes effect in highly used weapons, like pioneer, shura, rusty sword, in ijji all of these are common items. In a private server, there are 4x the amount of item there are in ijji. Therefore vert count isn't much of an issue. Before you reply, please think what you're reading thourgly.

So what I was pointing out is that regardless of the amount of the weapons in the game, you're still going to have the same amount of weapons in the room. It's true that if you have shotgun that does 3 damage it won't get used a lot so you could allow for those weapons to require more resources from your GPU/CPU. Still does not mean vert count isn't an issue.

It's not that it isn't an issue, but people are taking it out of proportion. Maiet does 300-700 vertices items, for their own personal reasons. They simply try to make it as low as possible, for someone with a brain. They would of figured certain things that are common sense. If going over 700 vertices was such an issue, there wouldn't be double pistols onto one character, in a single game use. The goal, as far as ver count goes, for Maiet, is to stay under 1500. WHAT???? Sounds crazy? No. It doesn't. When a Maiet developer makes an item, they have no idea what It's use might be, they aim as low as they can because there is double everything. I took my Blender lessons on a 256 RAM, 15 GB, 512 MB video card. Tested most of my work on TG, and it ran amazingly. I'm not just talking out ass, I have experienced the shitty PC part of this game, It isn't as terrible as most people describe it.

To me it is useless to model something of 800 poly's if I can model it with 500, only if you do not see the difference from the outside.
But yeah that is my opinion, you can still mid-poly your models if you like to I cannot tell you what to do ;).

Gunz has a realy old engine, you dont realy want to push it to hard.
Then again it doesnt look to heavy on my end.
Also, the blender elu script by phantom has one problem, models from blender have a memory leak.
While testing with a friend of mine, we decidet its the best to dont export with blender anymore.
As the tests did kind of show a big difference, with a lot of content anyways.

If you ask me, you stole this.

Let me explain myself.
A game engine always cuts polies into tri's, basically all the square shapes you see on the wireframe have lines crossed, so it makes 2 triangles. When you make a model, you never use that technique since the engine wouldn't be able to use it, and there will be a higher face count.

So basically what it looks like that you used a tool to render 3D models and convert them to 3DS max or blender. I might be wrong, but I know the technique used to render models / objects / characters will result in these models you are showing. Besides that, you are saying it has 860 vertices? If you ask me, you always state the "Face / poly" count, so thats kind of strange.

Explain yourself if I'm wrong.

Don't forget - Maiet are hired professional (university graudates) who know how to do their jobs. Sure their items might not be the greatest but they were created almost 10 years ago. I don't think a simple teenager like you who does 3D as a hobby has the right to just call their work "shit" and act like you're superior.

I finally introduced myself to Gunz, and know everything there is to know about it. Maeit's excuse of developers, are not "Professionals" who know what they're doing, items are made by what we Americans would call "students from a technical school", whom gladly donate their items to the Maeit corporation. The "developers", as we call them. Simply make software, and code bullshit, to make such items more suitable to their game.

@TheIdiot who said I leeched these items - That was the most idiotic thing I've heard since I came to FG. If you want proof, or want me to make a video of me making an item of anyone's choice, please let me know. I'll be more than glad to do so.

@Mynewmexicanoamigo(HellSniper) - Straight from hell sounds terrific, I took care of the texture thing, also. Already packed into .dds files, as well as re-modeling the entire model, looking to make it around 300-550 verts for it to actually be capeable of fitting a GunZ server. I do want my items ingame thou :D, don't want a developer position, or any special thanks. Nothing in return, I just want to see what my work could look like in a "public" game.

There was a time where I did 3DS, but after reformatting I couldn't be bothered reinstalling all the software so I stuck to using blender (since the installer is only ~11mb)

Let me tell you something. 9 out of 10 items shown here by people are stolen, remodeled or half leeched. I even said I could be wrong, and wanted you to proove yourself. I never even said you stole it, just by the looks of it I assumed that you ripped it because it doesn't make sense showing a wireframe with triangles instead of quads.

And if you are going to post some work on the internet, you'll get 80% reactions where people will say you did good or not, well that doesn't helps you whatsoever to improve your skills. People like me, who are actually working in the development world, most likely know a bit more then you do if you are starting. So for example if kenny states, which is a fact, that 860 "polies/faces" is a little to high for the engine that GunZ uses, then take that as advice.
I know its hard to handle criticism, and especially if you think your that good while clearly you aren't, but if you can't handle it then just don't post it. We are trying to help you improve you instead of the useless noobs saying: "it looks nice!"

Well that certainly depends on the goal you have, but for me its quite simple. I'm making exterior designs and interior designs, and for the whole proces of modelling, animating and rendering I prefer 3DS max.

I have tried Blender a couple of times, but I dislike the controls of Blender even though I started with that. Also I think it takes a lot of more time to achieve something in blender then in 3DS max. And last, you can almost do everything in 3DS max what Blender does, but you can't do everything in Blender what 3DS max can do. That, ofcourse has also to do a lot with the prices and space of the tools.

2. Critisism, I don't mind it. As long as it isn't stupid.
3. As you can see I took Sniper's advice, he didn't write 3000 letters. Just to tell me poly count was too high.
4. If you tell me my items are leeched, or that you think they are, in any way. I will feel offended no matter what.
5. Kenny's "Advice" as you call it, was more insulting than anything.
6. As you can see, I can react properly to people who don't act retarted.
7. If you do give me a retarted answer, I WILL!! scoop down to your level no matter what..
