Problems updating?
Add Gunz.exe and Launcher.exe (or the FGunZ folder) to the exception list of your anti-virus software and make sure to run the Launcher as Administrator!

Hey Freestylers,

we have worked on the next update!

FGUNZ UPDATE // 21 OCT 2019
- Fixed Scrider hangglitch (again)
- Re-added 640x480 as lowest resolution
- Added crosshair size/scaling option (so you can change your crosshair size ingame)
- Added training godmode option (you can choose to enable it on room creation)
- Reduced respawn delay in training mode to 0 seconds
- Increased damage of all revolvers
- Increased damage of all sniper rifles
- Automatic event description on room join if the room title includes a keyword (for event channel)
- Added Freestyler's RPG mode

FREESTYLER'S RPG MODE

Yes, that's right! We have created our very own custom RPG mode for GunZ.
You can enable the RPG mode on room creation and use it in combination with all other game modes to spice up your games!

What is the RPG mode?
You get 1 point for every kill, which you can use to upgrade one of 10 different skills. Each skill can be upgraded up to level 10 (max).
It's your choice which skills to upgrade to define and suit your very own playstyle.
If you have maxed all 10 skills (-> 100 kills) you unlock the special Lightning Melee Perk. Go ingame and try it to find out more!
The RPG level resets when the game ends or you leave the game - and it has no effect outside RPG rooms, of course.

Tested RPG mode, it's pretty amazing, great job. However there's 2 issues I've noticed.

1) It's very hard to pick what you want as you are usually mid-fight so you end up picking something random (and you don't even know what). I'd like to see what I picked in chat, e.g. "Upgraded HP to Level 8", and it would be better if it was CTRL + Number instead of just number, that way you could pick what you want without any mistakes.

2) Balancing issues, there's a lot of power with this, I think the points should be capped at 50, not 100, allowing you to make optimal builds and what not, instead of just being able to max out everything (that's what makes RPGs fun). Alternatively it could be capped to 60, but past level 50, you only get a point per 5 kills, encouraging players to keep getting points, but not gaining as much power. It also allows the lower level players to catch up.

Overall this is a very fun game mode, and I hope people host rooms using it

I think for 1) you will get the hang of it once you play it a few times.
2) is not a bad idea.

Not sure if 1) is something you can really get a hang of. It's only really a problem for people who use numbers for weapon switching etc. like myself, it's hard to time a kill and stop doing everything immediately to prevent the random point allocation. If not CTRL, perhaps there could be the option of flipping the numbers to work with the F keys or the numpad. It's not too problematic later on as you max out the first few stats, but it's quite hard to pick what you want in the beginning

I use numbers for weapon switching myself and while developing the mode I quickly got the hang of it to not assign points randomly without interrupting my gameplay so I believe you should give it a couple days and see - not just 1 hour after release.

I played the mode for 45 minutes in a 1v1, and still haven't gotten used to it (that's already way longer than it should take), ideally you should be able to get a kill, safely dash away, and then upgrade, it's extremely flawed. This would be even worse in an actual game setting where you are fighting multiple players and simply want to move around to survive. I don't see anyone getting used to this unless they use weapons such as rifles or snipers, which they just stand still with and don't press any buttons anyway. I feel like there will be quite a few people having the same issue, and trying to stop playing the game for a second just so you can allocate a point is not ideal, and it's not like you can wait until you're in a safe place, because if you continue playing normally the point will be allocated to some random stat

I kinda disagree with that. We should give it a couple days, get more opinions and see.

If more people agree with you I could change it so you have to press shift + a number to assign a skillpoint.

Tried it, I agree with Skilly here.

Before I flip tables, Mr McSic explain how the hell do you even add your skills during a TDM?
Do you expect everyone to sit their asses down and wait for you to add your upgrades during mid-fight?

Played about 50 rounds of AnD with the mode, I insist you bind a double-inputted command to add and even better, to check their current upgrades.

rpg mode yooo thats sick. was hoping that your stats would carry to other rooms with rpg tag tho cause idk if i'd wanna spend hours in a single game just for the stats to get wiped once its over

**havent played yet but i agree with what the others are saying about lvling up skills, should have some kind of shortcut since this is such a fast paced game. When I'm playing league i often use ctrl + qwer to lvl up skills instead of clicking the hotbar since im in the middle of fighting/farming. it's much quicker and efficient

Insist, lol. I give you RPG mode and you insist I do this and that. Not the best choice of words. How about you show a little appreciation instead of insisting.

I find rpg mode quite fun and irregular to the game, you don't have to complain about it, and you don't have to play it either hence it's a mode, you have the freedom whether you want to play it or not.

Would it also be possible to add a client-sided message telling you what you upgraded (and level)? Not necessary but would be a nice QOL

I came up with something else for that (to inform you which skill you upgraded) you will see in the next update.

I just watch McSic work now that I'm old and grumpy. He's actually done quite a lot for fgunz (coding) lately. I'm surprised he still has more planned for the future.

Just played it lol, pretty neat. Really cool to see these kinds of additions to such an old game. I see now how the point allocating works, personally it doesnt bother me since i don't use numbers to switch but i understand where the others are coming from. It's too bad im ass at gunz lmao, over here gettin few kills while the strong just get stronger.
I could see this feature being useful in quest/cq if it did work with those modes

It will give lots of EXP, especially if you win. And I also have a ranking / MMR system in mind for it with seasons and rewards for the top 10 of every season.

One thing to keep in mind with the mmr system is how many players are going to play the mode and therefore how hard it would be to continue climbing (unless any mmr can fight with any other mmr, in which case it doesnt matter)

Just be sure that a higher mmr should earn less points when winning vs a low mmr.
