Fixing the 0 dmg shots

Hey there,

for anyone that wants to help me fix / track down the 0 dmg shots, while doing nothing but playing FGunZ, follow this tutorial:

1) Download this gunz.exe: http://launcher.fgunz.net/dev/gunz.exe

2) Replace the gunz.exe in your FGunZ folder by this new gunz.exe

3) Double-click gunz.exe to run it (don't use Launcher, it would overwrite your gunz.exe!)

4) Connect to dev server. (this gunz.exe will not work on the live server, if you want to play on the live server you will have to run your launcher, which will patch your gunz.exe back to the live version)

I'll be on the dev server waiting for you.

This is a modified gunz.exe which only works on the dev server, it helps me on tracking down the 0 dmg shots issue. We will play some games like TDMs and if any 0 dmg shot occurs it should print useful information on your screen.

Whenever I update the gunz.exe I will post in this thread.

Enough testing for now, received some useful information while testing. I'll work on it and post here when an update is ready.

Btw 0 dmg hits can be divided into 2 categories:

1) You hit the enemy, he takes dmg, but your damage counter displays 0 (which makes you think you didn't deal damage, when indeed you did deal damage to the enemy)

2) An actual 0 dmg hit. You hit the enemy, he might even see that you hit him, but he doesn't take any dmg - your dmg counter displays 0 too

New gunz.exe will be posted here in 1-2 hours, be here if you want to test.

Especially people that have problems in the current client (0 dmg shots, performance problems / fps lag) should come to test this update before we release it.

Ah damn, still a bug that needs to be fixed. Sorry guys, offline until next gunz.exe patch.
