What does an admin or owner look for when banning people based on reports?

To ensure wasting time, and to look for better footage to submit ofc.

Because:

Recently, a player was reported for hacking. However, the moderator declined the report, even though it was blatantly obvious that the player was using cheats. To make matters worse, the player started equipping themselves with shotguns that do more damage than what is typically used in clan wars, making it more difficult to tell who is hacking. The player and their teammates also started using similar names with the letter "l" replaced with a capital "i" to make it even harder to tell them apart. They also refuse to play against players who they know will report them and avoid participating in clan wars when a GM is online. This behavior not only undermines the authority of the GMs but also sets a dangerous precedent for other players to cheat without consequences.

By ignoring the initial report, the moderator has essentially given the green light for other hackers to cheat without repercussions. This not only puts the integrity of the game at risk but also reflects poorly on the game's owners. It's frustrating to see this behavior go unpunished, especially when the excuse of "can't handle the loss because they are a better player" is just a weak justification for cheating. < someone who has been playing Gunz since 2009 is likely to have a lot of experience with the game and may have a better understanding of how it works and what to look for when trying to identify a hacker. Additionally, if they are a competitive player, they may have a heightened awareness of game mechanics and may be better equipped to spot unusual behavior or exploits + having competed against 1000s of players during those times, when coming across one who is cheating, it will become beyond obvious.

I dont think ive ever even reported anyone because of this reason even though i see laggers spikers, ucers. This is why i suggested the wall of shame and it got denied. Works well for another current active server thats why i suggested. And as a long term player myself i agree with you in the sense that us long time players arent sore losers, we know when were beat and have experience in telling whos unlegit, but gms be like trust me bro--. They dont really care tbh, i see the same spikers laggers etc all the time even after being reported once or twice its just a slap on the wrist. Their way of banning someone is a joke lol. Theyll be like "well keep an eye on him".. like you dont think the person thats been playing since 06 has a clue on what hes talking about atleast?? People still cry in 2023 for the sake of crying? I dont think so. In the ufc where people get drug tested, you dont think theres atleast one athlete cheating on the highest level of the sport? Majority of them are on roids btw lol

Lots of factors. And most time it’s not just one GM handling reports. It’s a team effort with times the Owners will even weight their opinions on the matter and help us.


At this point y’all just want hackers to exist so y’all can be happy. Most these people you see high elo have been playing for years.
Bunny is a pro at glad. He’s literally perfected the game and is rarely beaten.

While it's understandable that the GMs have years of experience playing Gunz and have developed certain criteria for identifying hackers, it's important to acknowledge that not all hackers will fit into these criteria. In some cases, hackers can be sophisticated enough to avoid triggering the usual flags that GMs look for.

Additionally, it's not fair to assume that players who report hackers are doing so just for the sake of finding them. Hackers can ruin the experience of honest players who have put in time and effort to become skilled at the game. It's natural for them to want a fair and balanced playing field.

Also, the argument that high elo players have likely been playing for years and therefore couldn't possibly be hacking is flawed. Just because someone has played the game for a long time doesn't mean they are incapable of cheating. It's possible for even experienced players to resort to hacking to gain an unfair advantage.

Lastly, it's important for GMs to be open to feedback and criticism from the community they serve. While it's true that they work as a team and consult with owners in making decisions, they should also be receptive to hearing concerns from players and taking appropriate action. Dismissing complaints and disrespecting players who raise concerns can ultimately damage the relationship between GMs and the player base.

A competitive player is likely to be more familiar with the gameplay mechanics, and meta strategies, than a GM who is not competitive. This familiarity gives them a better understanding of how the game should work and what is possible within its parameters. As a result, they are more likely to spot behavior that is outside of the normal bounds of the game, such as hacking.

one of the players you mentioned is known to hack by the majority of competitive players, and even Korean players avoid playing against them for that reason. And now, the cheater has made it even harder to report them by using shotguns that do 11-10 damage and having similar names to their non-hacking counterpart. This seems to be a contingency plan to make it difficult to distinguish between the two after the initial report.

Do players have to do the reporting for GMs to take action, or can GMs take action on their own?

Also, while it's important for players to report suspicious behavior, GMs should also be actively monitoring the game and taking action when they see something suspicious. However, there is a lack of confidence in GMs' ability to recognize the difference between skilled players and hackers, as they may not be competitive enough to have a deep understanding of the game mechanics, respectfully.

what kinda of hacker they use? i play tdm against they and didnt see anything strange

But it's important to remember that the burden of proof lies with the moderators, and it's their responsibility to investigate reports thoroughly and make fair and objective judgments. Clear communication and transparency about the reporting process can help improve the trust and cooperation between the community and moderators. <As a GM, responding with "stop crying because the player is better than you" to reports of hacking is not only unprofessional but also dismissive of the legitimate concerns raised by the players. This point completely ignores that player opinions are extremely subjective and suffer from confirmation bias. Player opinions are heavily influenced by the relation to the players they are fighting. GMs have a better understanding and far more objective opinions on these matters, combined with more insight and in-depth knowledge provided by the antihack system. Confirmation bias is very common with players' opinions and seeing your recent posts, you may be suffering from it too. It describes the tendency of people to favor information that confirms or strengthens their beliefs while being difficult to dislodge once affirmed. This leads to overconfidence in personal beliefs and causes people to ignore evidence that contradicts their beliefs. You seem to have ignored a lot of posts that contradicted your opinion. Anyhow, Dave pointed out (here: https://freestylersworld.com/showthr...=1#post1106554) that players/hackers do get banned very regularly and that there's a lot going on behind the scenes. We're checking. Jordan pointed out that you're free to report when you gather more evidence to strengthen your case (whereas not-reporting due to whatever reason weakens your case). The report section is always open. Plus our GMs do actively monitor the game and also take actions without reports.

Anyhow this is a pretty useless thread that turned into an even more useless ego thread.
