Glad CW Changes

Suggestion type:
FGunz

Suggestion description: few changes i think will boost glad cw :
1. allow only rusty sword in glad cw.
2. add GLAD tag, to disable flips in cw, also "V" tag, meaning its all vanilla and no donors (or at least the option to choose playin non-donors)
3. if possible separate clan rankings between glad and guns and therefore lower the prize of 1st clan i guess?
4. Regarding all CW's, add the name of the clan that is currently in queue
5. Add a map pool just for Glad CW of these maps for example: Town, Battle Arena, Stairway, High Haven, Dojo, Arena and i guess we can find more maps if this can actually happen.

didn't think about the dodging part, even tho people still dodge since its ez to know who up in cw unless they do /go

For 4) this is intentional and is an anti-dodge feature. More so useful when there's multiple clans up for CW.

1. I am not a glad player so what is the reason why the rusty is a "must"? (just want to know the reason so we can possibly make it a thing)
2. No, everyone can get the same stats in the game through rewards
3. We already brainstormed on this, though we cannot say when this would be actually functional

Ty for replying that quickly.
Regarding the rusty only.. well its not a "must" but it would be more fun not to die in 6~7 hits, and if its 4's/5's u will probably die in half a second if u don't peddle hard.
also about suggestion number 2, ignore the V tag.. what about the GLAD tag where u can't flip? is it possible?

So you actually want it to be like gladiator with the gladiator community rules right?
Cause right now I would say that Glad CW is actually Melee CW (CW without ranged weapons).

I suppose if the majority (a poll perhaps) wants an "actual" Glad CW where you have no flip and rusty only I do not see any problem in changing this, though it is mainly up to Dave & McSic what they really want.

I personally highly differentiate between Gladiator (and its rules) and what Glad CW is. It's as you said-- glad cw is actually cw without weapons. I dont see many elements of gladiator because everyone just peddle and run at eachother 3v3~5v5, but never really 1v1. I believe in this case the flip mechanic enables higher skillplay when not playing 1v1 that should stay, but i may not be the majority, so a poll is necessary.

1. glad wars take place in the big maps(time matter) what if players stalling/running ?? waste of time
2. I hate you on this :@ flips help to kill laggers and much more fun

just imagine after all that added, you gonna blame blockers and runners Kappa
block/defense = flip is the counter
runners = high dmg counter(it doesn't make sense but hell yea :D)

PS: I am not a glad player but you guys are trying hard to kill me

1) Whats the point of asking for rusty only when there was a thread complaining about all the rewards people get and everyone get donors. players buy donors so they can have an advantage, if u add rusty only it only takes that advantage away. whats stopping yourself from getting a donor too.
2) like i said V would make donors useless (armor) also GLAD tag only changes the fact if players can flip or not since elements are already not allowed which is fine how it already is. players train insta and all that so they can use it in fights.
3) that's up to the devs.
4) would be nice tbh but not gonna happen.

I believe rusty has a lower delay vs all the other katana's, might be wrong though.. but I believe this is one of the reasons people like the Rusty (besides low damage for longer duels).

rusty is 15 dmg 359 delay, donors are 27-29 dmg 329 delay

Disabling donors from cws is simply a bad move to do. People waste money on donors, wouldn't really be fair if we removed it from cw. Also, some people gonna stop playing glad cws if you remove every sword but rusty.

that's why I said maybe add it as an option, right before u queue u can choose non-donor rusty or something like that.
I personally know a good amount of players that don't play glad cw because of the donor things.
I also understand the fact people waste money and time to get donors, I just think it will be more fun to have that option and I think more people will try glad cw if its fair and square.
Yes rusty has higher delay, therefore u need more skill using it, also makes the fight longer then 4 seconds lol.

Regarding the flips, I LOVE flipping and insta, but the problem with outside map flipping just ruins the game in my opinion.

Nah, keep cw how it is right now seems pretty good. Rusty will take forever and cw's will be like 3-4 minutes longer than usually.

What would be nice is if there was a way to queue a map to cw in instead of getting stuck with choosing between some weird maps no one plays and isnt even good for glad cw

in regular cw, donors are allowed aswell as different lvl weapons

ah, i understand your point here but it seems a lot of the players who don't really glad don't understand the reasoning.

it's a gladiator clanwar, and most of all gladiators in glad rooms use rusty sword by default (its the "meta" / what's respectable in glad) and they enjoy the long fights.

on the other hand, i don't think flips should be disabled from glad. it's a counter to turtling and performing insta's are still in most glad players skillset anyway.


to expand on the glad cw idea though, there should be a map pool for glad cw on maps that are "acceptable" by the glad community (like battle arena). im unsure what else there would be seeing as i'm not a glad player myself, but that's exactly where community feedback could come in.

well that's what I initially meant by "a way to queue a map to cw" so we don't get stuck playing maps such as prison 2 where u cant even see because if u turn left or right next to a wall the jail cell bars are in your face...

Remove: Citadel, Dungeon, Prison, Island, Lost Shrine, Pavillion
Possibly Add: Catacomb, DBZ, Dojo, FSubway, Hall, X Minecraft

You mean separate them? Yeah we are planning to do that soon it's just a bunch of code here and there so haven't gotten around to it yet unfortunately.

separate glad points of normal cw points
and for the cw maps remove:
citadel, pavilion, stairways
other like ruin, dungeon, lost shrine are good for me, dont leave them

gun cw
citadel - map too big, weird hp/ap spawns, too many places to hide
station - camper always has advantage cause too many places to camp and pot when enemy rushes
pavilion - map too big, too many places to hide, cant kstyle properly in water cause of bumps.
island temple - teams cant meet properly mid, so becomes a camp fiesta.

make voting percentage chance instead i.e. if town has 3 votes and garden 1 vote make it so u have a 3/4 chance of getting town instead of 100%. so that people dont just play the same maps all the time.

Maybe an extra line under the scoreboard instead of an extra panel with an gun icon for "normal" cw and a sword for glad?

Edit: Which still require a bunch of coding which takes a lot more time as people would think.

I find it odd that so many people vote to remove Citadel.

As I'm preparing the update and removing CW maps, I've just noticed that we don't even have Citadel in the CW map pool. So I'm just letting you know that we can't remove Citadel from the CW map pool because it's not part of our CW map pool.

What I have removed from the CW map pool for the next patch is: Island Temple, Pavilion

If there's another map that should definitely be removed, let me know.

I think Dojo or Arena is not something Gun-CWers really want. We will add specific maps for Glad CW (seperated from Gun CW maps) in future though. And we can add maps for a specific number of players only, like we have Garden Small showing up for 2v2 only right now.

Yea adding Dojo in the future would be nice, arena is way too small imo.

Also removing prison 2 and island would be nice (from glad cw at least).

they mean lost_shrine, IMO lost_shrine is decent and good map. should stay in rotation

lost shrine is good, keep station, prison2 and island just remove stairway too pls
