You should work on your proportions and textures.

Let me sum some things up:
-The door height seems alright, the wall starting above the door is about 1.5 times as big as the door itself, doesn't make sense.
-You use outside brick textures for an inside building
-You fill the halls with object, which doesn't really make it playable
-It seems as if there is only 1 route to walk
-The tile / scale of the brick isn't in proportion as well (too big).
-Desks are about neck height(desk should be just where the legs end)
-Make both doors for rooms be open, 1 is too hard to get into and causes frustrations.

Besides all that it looks pretty repetitive, work on your level design.

I apologize and am aware of all of these flaws(Except the Desks, they're fine and are turned on their sides), I made this about 2 years ago and was finally able to light map it, future releases won't be so shotty but I just really wanted to get it out there once I figured the lighting out because of the popularity of my Elementary Map, which in my opinion was alot worse when it comes to scaling and texture proportion. As for the bricks inside, that's how my High School was modeled and I actually made the textures to scale from my old High School. Both rooms are in fact open, and the objects in the hallways do not get in the way of gameplay. I expect my map to be another Infected map anyways so we'll see where it goes. Also, my map is circular there isnt only 1 route to walk. Before you review my maps, please play them because clearly you havn't. Appreciate the feedback none-the-less. You'll be seeing better from me in the future.

Everything is properly scaled to everything in my High School at the time I made this and yes it is light mapped, and is in fact meant to simulate fluorescent lighting. (Another Example : Exit Signs -- Watch the Video)

I meant both doors to be open. Maybe your highschool was made that way, but I'm pretty sure they don't make these kinda bricks this big nowadays. Besides the fact that its pretty rough, so also dangerous for inside a school, it just looks unnatural

I'm not going to argue with you, and yeah maybe it'll be a good infected map. However, the scaling and the level design isn't that good, that is my opinion but I'm pretty sure there is lots of room for improvement.

You make me work sir, and honestly if you have to point out what things are light mapped, you probably should work on it some more. Your lockers are 2.4m when I have never seen a single locker over 2m.
Call it nitpicking or whatever, but a +/- 20% difference in ratio is not "properly scaled" imho.

I love how that pic basically show's it is to scale. The lockers here in Canada are a bit bigger than the one's your used to seeing I'm sure. I'm glad you took the time to try and prove some point that isn't worth proving anyways, in accordance with what I know and have seen, they are correctly scaled. Thanks for the opinion though.


And also, I'm not trying to spend a lot of time on this map as I have new maps coming out soon that need my attention, this is just something I've been trying to release somewhere for about 2 and a half years. While it may not be perfect I can guarantee solid game play, balanced spawn points, and lots of little things to entertain during downtime; such as Elementary.

My school lockers aren't over 2.0m and I live in Canada, just saying.

*Rolls Eyes* That's great, I've stated many times that MY lockers at MY high school were about 2.5-2.6m and most likely thicker than depicted. I have admitted I've made mistakes on this map, multiple times. It's not about the mistakes and the scale isn't exact, but the game play is great for Gunz, which in the end is all I really want. I'm just curious as to why you and Wucas are so obsessed with trying to point these things out, multiple times. I've explained why it's scaled the way it is, it isn't scaled towards Gunz it's scaled towards the building around it, the only exception was I wanted to make the doors somewhat realistic for the Player Models. Anyone who plays the map would also probably realize what I'm trying to say here. Anyways I'm done justifying a creation I'm quite proud of. You can love it/hate it, but keep it to yourself, this is simply a release thread, nothing else. I'm seriously happy I'm not you, having to live with myself, because I couldn't deal with being so repetitive.

I most likely will once a few more maps of mine have been released, it's what I'd like to focus on at the moment. Whether I become a Dev or not, I do want these maps released solely to the FGunZ community. My previous application was based on Elementary alone, I'd like to showcase a bit more of my maps before going ahead with another application. Happy to know I have support though, thanks Adam. :)

Besides the fact that you're map just looks pretty bad, you're also pretty full of yourself. I really wonder how old you are and what your mental state is lol. You're going to release something online and expect only positive feedback? You can't handle decent feedback, that in the first place, is written to help you improve yourself and the map? Honestly, wucas and I weren't hating in the beginning(assuming for wucas). But I, and I think wucas as well, probably know what we are talking about, and we try to use our knowledge to help you.

Right now you're just waving it all off, like your map is really good or something. But there are a lot of things that are wrong with it. And as far as I'm concerned, you're a bad developer the moment you release something that isn't finished. And by finished I mean good. Clearly some of the community doesn't really have a brain and just say nice because they will never be able to create such a thing, and if (which you probably do) got some kind of fetish for that stuff and jerk off on it then I guess go ahead. But at the very least be a man and fix the things that are being said.

You probably spend a while on this map, and whenever I work on a level design I show people from my work to let them me whats wrong, because when you're working on something you most likely don't see everything. Assuming the points I gave you would take about 2/3 hours to fix, then why the hell wouldn't you? It's released already. As I've said I'm not looking for any sort of critiques, I'm aware of the flaws and I can see them for myself, but instead of wasting time on that, I just wanted to get all the maps I made in the previous years out in the open. I want to release everything I've made so I can have some sort of clean slate for releasing much higher quality work. I do appreciate that some people know what they're talking about but this isn't the map or the thread to do it in. As far as I'm concerned this is a finished product and that's that. If I even started to fix the problems in this map, I would just end up restarting everything because at this point in my mapping career, I would consider this a travesty as well. I had no plans on releasing it until I saw how my Elementary map was used every single day with 16+ people in it, so I figured the community might like this, and so far they have. slugheady, I'm happy you know what you're talking about and can spot these things, and I probably will appreciate your opinion in the future I'm sure, but as I've said. Not the map/thread for it at the moment.

They used the map cause of the unfair advantage of chokepoints with sprays.
Not because its the best map ever, its just the easiest to lvl in with.

So you want it to be fgunz exclusive ...
Why do you post a download then? you know that ppl from other servers are on our forums aswell.
The possibility of some random user downloading and throwing it on a other server is at atleast 70%.

Yea the proportions are def. off.. The hallways actually could be wider as this is a high school where students are bigger and the halls fill up more than an elementary of small kids. using desks stacking them up and/or laying them down is using it as filler more than realistic use.. maybe make a huge cafeteria, auditorium, football field, and classrooms to make this more believable. If its just a hallway fight its gonna be just like Elementary.. I get ur idea but this could def. become something great if u work on it with people

Honestly, if anyone was interested in making this map more than it is, they can contact me at anytime(I'll send everything to you). I won't be putting anymore work into older maps. I just got a laptop that can handle just about anything, so I might start mapping again if work doesn't get too tiring. If it comes down to it, I might remake Elementary and Highschool, and complete my College map(on 3ds max). Appreciate the feedback. :)
