yeah, i've noticed that time to time with custom maps and i just assumed the textures were somehow baked incorrectly (like some custom maps that sponsor a private server on signs & billboards). good...

i step it up a notch and force a super high LOD bias
looks way better than just a high picmip

no reason not to improve the game's visibility as much as possible
