Hello Freestylers,
At this point in time i feel that i can no longer make any more meaningful contributions for the server, as such I am leaving the staff team of FGunz today.
I have already completed all of my V8 code and provided documentation to Dave and McSic. So I hope that the rest of the team will follow through with their work and deliver V8 to you all. This will not come as a surprise to any staff members as i had made an announcement months ago that i would either resign after V8 was released or that i would leave because i would not stay around forever to wait on the rest of the team to get their work together for the V8 release. In truth i was done with my V8 code many months ago, around 6 months ago, but i decided to add more and more features since the rest of the team wasnt ready yet and i even made one large system as a farewell project for the staff and players to enjoy and thought it would keep me occupied.
As this time has passed my patience with many of the issues i dealt with has worn down to a point where i can no longer tolerate any more. All of which were between myself and the other coders, gfx developers and admins. Its hard to explain if you havent been part of the development team, but i know Jeff and all the other coders that wanted to make a difference understand what im talking about. Before i started i was really excited to get accepted and motivated to do something exciting for the community. Now however, even though i still have a urge to do something for the community now and then, it is not great enough to confront the obstacles that i constantly faced.
More or less this comes down to the staff rather than the community as the main cause. Dont take offense, we all have our flaws, even myself, but getting patches released has become increasingly difficult due to the administrators. We as coders have no way to push out updates, and it has been discussed in the past that we coders were willing to code more frequently and wanted to push more frequent patches. However for whatever reason this could not be delivered to us. As you can imagine it is very frustrating to be artificially restricted when you could be making things better. For myself and i believe a few other coders, seeing our features, code and fixes be pushed out to the community is what we enjoy after we have finished something. Makes us feel like we are "making a difference" good or bad, haha. For me this was a hobby and i wanted to share what i did. If im not able to do so, then i lose interest over the months. Many a time Jeff and i have had to wait weeks to get an update released to the community. That is the one thing that annoyed me the most. Dave, McSic and Jeff you are still my favorite staff members out of all and friendly guys that are fun to talk to, even if you all frustrated me sometimes in regards to the server and made me want to pull my hair out.
I hope that Dave and McSic have the insight and understanding of the community to use the new systems and features that i added appropriately to make the game fun for you all again. There is some really cool stuff coming, i just hope it isnt delayed too much .
GM's and ET's you know already i have nothing to say about you because i never talked to you anyways, lol. So nothing bad or good to say except for, Linzor, dont die someday from all that crap you eat, eat a carrot or something sometime...
As for the community, whatever...haha. I dont think it would even matter what i have to say about you all. Besides the forums only represents a small fraction of the players to begin with. Ya noisy bunch. : ^)
All players, give the upcoming meta a chance, ijji is gone, it will never be the same or come back, so try to make the most of this new fgunz.
Thanks for the help and kindness of all current and former staff members that treated me well, Michi & #1Chef & Stephan...i didnt talk to many people lol. Thanks to those in game that verbally spoke up in my defense of the "controversial" anti lead. Also thanks to the players, since this server wouldnt be here if you didnt play it and i wouldnt have had the opportunity. Finally thanks to my friends that i played with before i became a coder here, you know who you are.
