How do you define intelligence?

Here is the story to how I stumbled upon this concept. Well in school I am friends with pretty much every type of person there is in a high school. Friends such as druggies, intellectuals, musically gifted, athletes, gamers, preppy, and so on. I consider my self a mix of all of them excluding the durggy, however at lunch me and 4 of my buddies where sitting at the table. As I am eating my friend Erik says "rednecks use shorter words to save 5 seconds of their time" quickly after that my buddy Sean says "Intelligent people don't need to use shorter words because in that 5 seconds they could think of many new intelligent though and/or philosophies". So then my buddy Mike get upset, as it seemed to me, and says "Intelligence is not defined by vocabulary." and then Sean says "it appears more intelligent when you speak with a elevated vocabulary". The conversation goes on and on from there. There are other thoughts that I would like to put on here I just cant find out how to put them into words


Now its time for my though upon this topic. I personally believe intelligence is based on thoughts and actions. Yes, if you wish to be know or seen as an intellectual then it is wise to use a "elevated" vocabulary but it is not required. I my self think a lot of philosophical thoughts and I my actions are never "stupid". Based on my opinion I believe intelligence is not based on pen an paper but in your mind and I say this is because we all have our specialty's. What I mean by this is that if your not smart on one issue that does not mean your dumb because you may know more than the other person on another subject. I have much more to say I just don't know how to put it into words. All I can say is this

I personally consider my self intelligence by what I think. I don't think about what I am doing this weekend or how to make my self look prettier or any of the shallow though. My thoughts are much more deeper then. And I guess that's the only way I can put it. I base intelligence on how deep your thought is. Well I do judge people based on vocabulary at 1st but I quickly get past that.

Well , I think that there isn't much intelligence in the world..There are few people who can exploit it..

I sum the word Intelligence into "someone who has alot of 'common sense'".. That's just how I see it.

I'd explain "Intelligence" someone that has many experience with Life, wise.
Because "Intelligence" People, like the most people think, are people which
write good Marks, but if you think far, they did only consist the practical of "intelligence", but the theoretical has been missed out.
The Theoretical can't be learned, every people have to find it out by their own
experience.

That's what I think about "intelligence".

I agree and this is a good way to somewhat explain what I was going for in a different manner.

I find that alot of people that get good grades a.k.a marks are fairly dumb. Though out my life I always look outside the box on most subjects and its from the majority of my life spent alone. Mostly in here on my computer but by choice. I was never a social person. Frankly I hate humanity overall because its driven solely on greed. However I won't go into that that's just why I have developed such a non shallow though pool.
