FFXIV is a subscription-based MMORPG that came out in 2013 and completely remade in 2014 hence the "a realm reborn".
The game is highly story-driven with a touch of anime and a bunch of content, a free trial until level 35 and 2 expansions: Heavensward and Stormblood which are DLC.
The game features minigames, storyline, housing, free companies (guilds/clans), crafting and gathering, dungeons and raids and quite a few classes.

Unlike most other games, you only need 1 character which you put your time and effort into, and to change between classes and jobs you simply equip their weapon type after completing the class quests, so a character can be a level 70 Dragoon and a level 1 Machinist.

The game has 3 categories of jobs (jobs are usually started at level 30 starting from a base class that you choose in character creation):

Tank: Paladin Warrior Dark Knight

Healer: White Mage Scholar Astrologian
