    I've seen the suggestion of sending an e-mail to every registered user before, which to me seems like a quick win. Not sure if there has ever been put some effort/thought into that.

    Exactly this. There are so many new avatars. If I were playing other servers and I saw these avatars in my mail I would give FG a try for sure!
