    Suggestion type:
    Forum/FGunZ/Other

    Suggestion description:
in a time where a staff member can clearly tell that the event he is making will not reach 33-34 players in the room, he should not be forced to add a password to said room when creating it (or alternatively, removing it). I believe this will solve a lot of spam they are claiming to receive, aswell as spam normal players receive when theyre asked for the password.
For some ets this could also be beneficial to relieving some of the responsibility they have when making events as they will not be required to multitask and answer things in the lobby (even if it just means pressing 1 button with the macro, they have to set up a macro with the password every game) if players can just join the room.

It is just annoying for both parties. ET's need to pay attention to the chatbox frequently to make sure people are informed about the password.

Regular players need to ask in the chatbox or pm a staff member for the password and it can take some time to get a response. ET's are busy doing their stuff so they have to wait for a response, which could lead to them even missing rounds which means they miss on opportunities to earn event points.

It serves no purpose with less than 20-30 people in an event, as it nowadays never reaches over 30+ players.

An argument the ET's had was that it screws up the settings when preparing a room if people join while editing the room, but they could just create a password to configure the game settings and then remove the password once they're done/before they start the event.

It's just annoying for everyone, serves no purpose and having it removed would be more efficient for everyone.

Just check the event channel player number, and if it exceeds the number of people in a room place a password, then if you're late and it's full, well, you're late both ways be there password or not.

That with other words means "no password" then since it never reaches over 30+ players these days. If it does then we can always implement this back if we reach numbers like that regularly, but that's not the case now.

I think regardless of how many people the room gets to, there shouldn't be a password for regular events. Even if a player shows up late to an event, they're still gonna find at least one person who will send them the password to get in. It's just events. Everyone should get a chance to play, and if anything I feel like keeping a password slows down that process. By the time they get the password they could miss 1 or 2 rounds depending on the event. Plus it just poses as a distraction for everyone when you have people spamming "pass pass pw what's pw" and you're trying to pay attention to an event going on. You shouldn't feel like you have to reject your whispers before entering an event to enjoy it lol.

This has been discussed and the rules for ETs have been updated accordingly. I guess we can close this.
