yes. i selected my character and the screen just went black
restarted the game and my pc,tried to delete the config file aswell. didnt work.

What if you set it to windowed mode in the settings on the login screen?
It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready.
I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything.

And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.
Ive tried that aswell. and if im trying to go back to fullscreen the game crashes

You should also check your anti-virus software to make sure it's not blocking FGunZ (gunz.exe), and close all unnecessary programs as they could be interfering FGunZ.
(running out of ideas here)
