Maybe an idea to have a simple text display the amount of time you have played for your activity points ingame.
    Something along the line of the example below (was to lazy to have the exact same font/font size, this is just an example);

    OR

I think that might be a good idea, I'd like to see how long have I been playing.
    I guess others would too.

Forgot to mention that it should reset when you log off.

I disagree with that idea, maybe the timer should just stop when you log out and when you log in it will keep going.
It could help with 2 things: Seeing how long have I been playing, and showing how time I have to complete my daily 3 hours playing.

as for the daily 3 hours, you have to be online for 3 hours straight in order for it to count, logging off and logging back in would reset the timer no?

It's bound to the session, not to how long the FGunZ client itself has been running.
It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready.
I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything.
There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now.
And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.

Having the timer stop when you log off and continue when you log back in is probably not gonna happen, the idea is not to have an exact time in mind to know "hey i played 3 hours, im done here, time to go offline".

I do agree with having a better system than the hourly "you have been playing for x hours. Nice!"
maybe an option in the settings that allows you to decide how frequently you want to be notified for activity?

    - every 10 minutes
    - every 30 minutes
    - every hour
    - every 3 hours
    - never

Could be done in the chatbox (in a room) / lobby with ease.
