I am with the Hong Kong people, i've been to the protests my self ive seen it all...
why HK should have their own country :
    1. own currency
    2. own language (cantonese)
    3. very different culture from China
    and so on ...

the whole protest was so that China couldn't just take whom ever they want out of HK, they want to be able to control HK (take people out and in etc..)
then mid protest China had declared they are backing away from that decision and they won't do that law.
But now the protesters in HK want more, they want to be completly free, thats why the protests are still on going
