No idea, I guess I just don't ignore people because then I'll miss something they can say.

Nowadays we are trying not to be as strict as we used to be in the past, we don't want to mute anyone who's being rude because then half of the server would end up muted lol. If you get annoyed by him, I see no harm with using the "/ignore" function on such users, don't forget this command isn't an actual permanent block.
