lol since im 15 it doesnt really matter to me, but when i get older ima just say mr. to everyone, but ill say sir to the ppl like cops and etc.

The word sir is a sign of respect yes but not when you refer to a buddy. I never use or have I seen the word sir used when talking to a friend and have it be serious.

I call people sir like 40 times a day, normally 20 yr olds who got an associates degree and joined so they're officers, even 20 year seargant majors have to called a 1 year 2nd lt sir, its respect thing.

Definitely doesnt mean age.
