That would indeed be a very nice solution. Maybe it can replace a certain texture used on any item.

This would be an easy solution so you don't have any placement issues etc. Add a section in the texture loading that would read if a certain texture is requested and replace it with the clan emblem.

Yeah I had something like this in mind, just requires a peek in the code.
