so i'm not sure who's the genius behind forcing the launcher to only use internet explorer IN 2023

for me internet explorer doesn't work it gives me error called (error:0) and doesn't open any site

which leads to the problem in the photo the launcher doesn't connect to the internet and can't download any updates

my firewall is disabled and windows defender disabled as well so nothing interrupting the launcher all the c++ and the basics are installed

the version i downloaded is the portable one

tried everything to make the launcher use any other browser but nothing worked

if the admins know how to change the browser for the launcher tell me please

what a stupid and frustrating problem

Can you paste the contents of the patchlog.txt file here?
It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready.
I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything.
There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now.
And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.

FYI in the launcher you can see the latest news and such, that is embedded using the older IE API as well, so it should work fine. Unfortunately, there's no quick fix for that from our end.

It's weird that you're getting a "The supplied certificate is invalid" error, we use Cloudflare for the certificates so it should work totally fine. Is your OS fully updated?

not fully updated cuz i use other applications that require certain version but i never faced such a problem anyway

i tried with VPN too still nothing

i even disabled internet explorer and it got disabled but the launcher still attached to it if i click on the news to open link for example it doesn't do anything cuz the browser is gone

i'm sure there's something i can do to change the default browser for the launcher ?!!

No, the launcher uses an older web API, that's not related to setting a default browser for it which would be embedded differently.
You're the first person I know of to encounter this issue though.

To me the error "The supplied certificate is invalid" implies that you're missing a root CA certificate, perhaps due to running an outdated version of Windows.
