Another suggestion to go along with the increase in new players and having the same frequented question of "how to add friend?!"

It would be cool to have some sort of window or notification that pops up when a new player clicks onto the "Friends" list where it gives a brief explanation on how to add friends to the list (/friend add command and right clicking)

I can't say this is a specific issue with the friendlist, but perhaps its true that most of the new players' problems relates to the friendlist which takes a minute or two to get used to. A lot of the GUI can actually benefit from a "tutorial" and question marks icons placed in places where there is ambiguity on meaning and purpose. Agree with Bunny here. A notification every time you open the friends list would be crazy. The mail notification already drives me nuts.

The GUI needs work - it's not clear what the shop or inventory or settings are. We need symbols AND text to make it more user-friendly.

In the meantime, a solution like Bunny proposed would be great - re-work the mail system to offer information about the game. It can function as a user guide of sorts.
