    Suggestion type:
    Game

    Suggestion description:
if you play a game of CTF, it's imposible to counter players that spam landmines on the flags.
U cant destroy them with rocket launchers nor grenades. If you hit them with your shotties, it will suck you into the explosion? This behaviour is odd.

    My suggestion is that:
    1. Mines should be reduced in clip, from 5 to 3. 5 is simply too op, when they can be equipped with 2 slots which makes it a total of 10 currently.
    2. Mines should be destroyable by shotties, grenades, rocket launcher etc. basically every weapons there is. Make no sense it cannot be.
    3. Get rid of knockback effect from mines. Its a hindrance to the gameplay, not fun, but pure annoyance.
    4. Mines should be destroyed by a single shot regardless of weapons used.

    CTF suggestion:

    1. Addition suggestion for the gamemode CTF, the default time limit should be set to at least 2 hours or infinite. because you will be spending the first 45 minutes looking for players to join, just to be able to enjoy last 15 minutes of real gameplay. And only to realize that you cannot adjust the time limit because you forget to. QoL improvement, good idea really. Or make it so that the time limit will scale linearly accordingly to the flag target count.

    2. Anyone that gets the flag should be healed to the maximum health because ffs, its difficult enough to enter the base just to die a moment after getting the flag because your enemy would just 1 tap you on your way out. Again, it's not fun as a flag catcher. There's really no incentive or any positive reward as a flag catcher.

    3. Continue on Point 2, there really isnt any incentive as a flag catcher. One of the team would just camp on their base, doing absoutely nothing at all to play the role as a flag catcher. I think the fun element is missing when your opponent team would just camp on their base waiting for you, while here you are try harding.

    4. Reward those who scored with more experience, and show the score count on the scoreboard. Ideally the scoreboard should focus on flag scoring and also defending, not KDA. Reward them even further, by perhaps increasing their health pool, speed or damage. YOU GOTTA INCENTIVE PEOPLE WHO WORKS HARD TO SCORE

Please consider this admin. ITS NOT FUN TO PLAY WITH MINES.

i agree mine should be destroyed by explosive, and their hitbox dont match model size... hitbox needs to be way more big
but i disagree everything else abt mines , never found them annoying recently other than hitbox size

re ctf mines can be cleared in x y z proximity to flag

I think this would just confuse people, ideally we prob don't want to change the mechanic that much.
You reminded me of the hitboxes of the flag itself. god damn is it difficult to pick it up at times. U cant jump and dash through it to pick it up, which makes countering mines even harder than it already is. I think if u guys fix this, I will be a much happier man.

Mines deal 60 damage each, which means placing 5 mines is enough to kill one person. If you reduce it to 3 mines, you’d only deal 180 damage, or you’d need to use two entire slots to kill one player with mines. Not supporting it.

Last time I checked, mines can be destroyed by shotguns in a single shot, but it depends on your angle and distance. I do agree that mines should be affected by other weapons as well.

It seems logical to have some level of knockback when stepping on a mine, so again, wouldn't support this. Also, you can simply cancel the knockback the same as you would've been flipped by pressing space.

Mines being destroyed by a single shot regardless of weapon, along with distance and angle, plus all the other suggestions you’ve mentioned, seems like an attempt to make mines obsolete. At that point, you might as well suggest removing mines from the game entirely.

You may not find it enjoyable but there are people having the time of their life using mines. Matter of perspective and your own playstyle.

Correct Mines are Balanced in a way that doesnt directly effect much competitive flow
    They can be shot
dont do a lot of damage
    Also CTF is rarely Played
    not because of mines

Since youre not in the Discord where we talk more about the suggestions in there.

The fact that a stacked mine could kill you in 1 single hit speaks about how broken it is. When it is played on CTF, it is a no-brainer, zero skill based item. Just plop it on the flag and you're good to go. That alone is enough to ruin the experience of CTF for everyone. I should have recorded how awful the experience it was for me yesterday, I rushed to the enemy base to sacrifice myself to be killed by the silly mines and just to have the enemy plop new ones in right after I die. Not fun tbh

I think generally we could start by fixing its hitbox, let it get destroyed by every other weapons and remove knockback effects upon destroying it

The fact that you have to place down 5 mines, sacrificing an entire slot in order to kill one person, seems balanced to me. Even if they are all stacked on top of each other, that makes it even easier to clear them all at once.

Again, you’re trying to make mines obsolete based on an experience you had one night in a team based game mode called CTF. You’re supposed to work as a team to capture the flag, not rush into the enemy’s base all by yourself. That’s how the game mode was intended to be played.

"Remove knockback effects upon destroying it" ~ Bro, what? It’s a mine. It explodes upon being destroyed and has the same effect as grenades. It seems logical to have a knockback effect whenever an explosion happens in close proximity to you.

The only points you’ve raised that I agree with are the variety of weapons that can destroy mines and perhaps a rework on the hitbox of the mines.

Your logic is fine if only you didnt need 2-3 enemy players to focus on placing mines and nothing else to counter a single enemy flag-taker. Let's not forget that you can and should also kill other players, not just rush for flags. It's a team game-mode, and you were teamed on.

A single shotgun shell can destroy 120 mines. If you wanted to counter mine-spammers, in the current meta, you would equip a pellet firing weapon rather than two explosives and shoot the stack just once. A lot of arguments can be given to why mines are currently in their weakest state. They:
    • Are very big and obvious, and easy to dodge/destroy.
    • Take up an item slot from other more useful items
    • Have a high drop delay compared to meds
    • Require concentration to put down in a specific spot compared to items that can be used mid fights.
    • Used to not be destroyable with shots, and now a single shot can take out a stack.
