Your probably running it on Vista or 7 right?
That's caused by the effects of the vista or 7 makes,
meaning its just an effect like the transparency.
Notice that both windows 7 and vista has the writing
letters very neat with an effect.

I think it can be fixed by changing the effects by going
Control Panel>System>System Proprieties>Advanced TAB>Under Performance>Settings.
Then Un-Tick Smooth edges of Screen font, Then Apply and OK.
I also had the same problem, sorry to not attend here before
