Underclocking is a myth?

Nah underclocking is decreasing your computers performance.
let me give you a small example:

let's say... you have a 333mhz processor. you can overclock it to 500mhz so it's increasing it's performance. simple as that.
now with underclocking instead of using the standard 333mhz you decrease it to let's say... 200? so it uses less power and decreases the performance overall.

that's all it basically is, but again that's REAL underclocking, i personally have NO experience/knowledge with underclocking gunz.

I saw UCing and I asked what it was and suddenly Everyone is talking and whining about UCing.
My brother was watching some real overclocking videos and I talked about the UCing that was going around.
He said it was impossible that underclocking has something to do with your ping.
That's why I posted this thread o.o

There is a program, which can be used for GunZ and also other games, that does the same as underclocking. Cause barely anyone knows how to underclock a PC.

Though saying it's a myth is just stupid cause that has nothing to do with it, you're using the wrong words.

its not.. u should try reading all the other posts above yours

he mixed up the real definition of the word with the gunz definition.
two are different things with different programs and different effects.

You Actualy dont need a Programm for "real" underclocking.
All you need to do is going into your Bios and set some stuff up.
Some Motherboards/Bioses dont support Clocking your CPU at all.

Underclocking with the Gunz program, enables the person to get off many shots before his movements are even realized. The ping will not always change, it may still be a low pinger, but its almost like what the old gens used to do in Ijji and Igunz, They would disconnect their internet cable, run to the other side of the room, and if you did that within like 10 - 15 sec, u resume play and are basically "Teleporting" With the said "UC" that goes on in Gunz, You can be in a duel and watch your HP/AP drop without even seeing movement from the other player. No lag symbols, or anything.

Thats NStep, since when is NStepping the same as "UCing"?
