slugyhead, I have got the CD with w7 on it, i also have got my orriginal vista CD, But when i try to install it it asks me where to install. And Boot C: is not there, and if i use a removable hard disk it says im not allowed :p. So i don't really think it will make much of a difference. But i will try '

This sucks, maybe you have to buy a new HDD, I'm not sure.

But eahm, if it doesn't recognize your hard disk then you're sata kabel might not be connect well, try to put it in better or in a diffrent slot or something.
If you boot you're PC from your driver its gonna run the CD, that will make the CD run its programme and it should install... though if it doesn't recognize your HDD it can't install it =|
