Anyways, I prefer 1n1'ing someone in a smaller map. I don't or hate just chasing them around.

Town is the league 1v1 map. There is no changing it. People don't 1v1 in Hall because people whore pillars and pot shot. Town provides an open space where people can lead properly and use the walls to their advantage. Anything besides town really isn't a legitimate 1v1. He is right. Whether hes good, tried, didn't try, is lying whatever, Town is the legit map.
