Ok trust me (I did sigs/lps for a good 4 years and quit about 2 years ago due to school). Explore different styles is a must, perfecting the style you best like is your choice. Learning different styles will teach you different techniques that can then just form into your own very own style. When I used to design, I heavily visited sites like Planetrenders (their forums) and GFXJunk< was my main. I also used to be cofounder of Deadlygfx that sadly shut down now. (went by .ncr.) Anyway, just try other styles to perfect your own style. Doing the same thing will never get you anywhere.
