you got the right idea, and you executed it the right way, however.
the colors are monotone so try to add some gradient mapping/photo filters and some outstanding colors to add a better feeling to it wich suites the eye.
also remove the effect off the face it makes her look as if she has the elephant man disease or whatever, you should always try to keep the face as clean as possible.

Also i would like to mention that the lighting is off, as you can see the light is in the middle of her face wich means the light source should be somewhere above her face the light source should always be in the opposite direction of the shadows keep that in mind!
