No i didnt.
All i did there was to post a Thread with several Dummys for Water from original Maps.
Custom Water -> Settings and the Right Ammount of Verts/Polys.
Gunz = Low Poly.
Load too many Polys = Crash.
Was generally speaking and in the end its the same.
Cant play/test.

You Honestly assigned a Texture to the opposite Face of the Grass?
You only need one Side, after compiling add </twosided> to the material in the xml.

For a more accurate Water send me the Map file, no Textures.
