You better put it on a flat surface. If you put it on a bed then it's obvious why it's overheating.
The fan can't suck air out of your bed sheet. (:

A cooling pad could cool your laptop down for a few degrees but it's still recommended to put it on a flat surface.
It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready.
I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything.
There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now.
And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.

my previous laptop was overheating as well. The main problem was that i always putted it on my bed and it just became to hot that i couldnt lift it lol..

i would advice you to use it on a table or w/e u have to work on and a cooling pad..

It is normal that a laptop gets hot though if your fan is broken I'd recommend to replace it (ASAP) As replacement you can play in the fridge. Or outside if its cold enough. In bed is not recommended at all! It could be the reason why your fan is broken. Also why would you play gunz in bed? I only have my laptop in bed for porn or music. For gunz i need a chair. A mouse and a keyboard since I have a MacBook Pro and I have been able to cider port so I can play gunz on a mac But somehow the keyboard of the laptop itself does not work properly:s. But yeah. It's better to not use your laptop at all until you replaced the fan.
