Honestly, your first item on nidalee should be a tear, which you can upgrade to archangle staff. Archangel with a deathcap is one of the better combination to get the highest possible AP ratio (not counting snowball items). Besides the high AP amount if its fully stacked, it allows you to be more durable the entire game, the mana regen really helps.

i personally go tear t1 boots, then rush deathcap for the mid game power spike
then i grab archangels, magic pen boots and then go hour glass or visage (situational, i dont go visage everytime)
goign archangels makes u lose that pressure in lane where if u hit 1 long range spear they have to play passive or chain chug like 5 pots

Slows, stuns aaaaaaaaand... some more slows and stuns, best part is that our Mf was like 0/8 at 15min.
