I decided to try some map-making in GunZ, but every link I can find on teh Jewgle is dead. I currently need the GunZ Online Plugin and the "basic config files for your GunZ map."

Please note that I have done this before in 2008, but obviously I can't remember that far back, so I may need some assistance in getting the program up and running.

Thanks, but the links I need in there are dead. Same problem I've been having.

If you are just starting, don't bog yourself down with GTK, go the better alternate root and learn 3DS Max right from the start.

GTK was never designed for Realspace 2, likewise, the Realspace 2 plugins were actually built for 3DS Max originally for Maiet. Wouldn't it be better to learn the right way the first time, rather then learning the easier program and then switching over later?

:o I was not aware that it would work with 3DS Max. As I said before, I did this back in 2008 and used GTKRadiant. I will keep this in mind, but finding a tutorial for GunZ in 3DS Max may be difficult.

Rob might help you. He has a weird fetish with helping people with 3ds.

There are no current tutorials of 3DS Max Mapping with Gunz since all but a half a dozen people actually do it, most of them being self taught.

Things to remember when mapping in max.

    Closed Simple Collisions
Lighting can only be done by the "Omni" lightsource. Settings that will appear in Gunz are Intensity, Color, and Attenuation (Falloff distance)
    Naming Conventions (http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=NnZTDsCN)
World Edit is used for lightmapping

For more info Hellsniper has a little guide on ragezone.

Plugins can be downloaded here (You need the Map Plugin found midway down the page.)

AFF, I've never used 3DS Max. x.x I may just start with GTKRadiant and get some experience first because I may take college courses regarding 3D design. So back to the subject, I need FSRad and all required files for GTKRadiant to work with GunZ. I have GTKRadiant 1.5.0 downloaded and installed, but I cannot find anything else except for GZMap.

Just tell me what you are missing then I will give them to you quickly as possible.

I think all I'm missing is FSRad now. I will PM you later if I run into any issues, but that should be all I need.

EDIT: I found a working download for FSRad, so I should be fine now. ^^; Took long enough to find though..
